Boxer Mike Tyson suffered a medical scare on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles last night, with flight attendants asking if a doctor was present onboard.
Doctors Requested For Mike Tyson Onboard American Airlines Flight To LAX
57-year-old Tyson was flying from Miami (MIA) to Los Angeles (LAX) yesterday on American Airlines flight 1815, operated by a Boeing 787-9 jet. The flight was delayed two hours because it was so hot on the aircraft (it was a very warm day in Miami). Initially scheduled to leave at 5:45 pm, the flight was set to board around 5:10 pm and Tyson showed up, but a gate agent then announced it was too hot onboard. A passnger told InTouch:
“There was a lot of buzz when he left the Admirals Club and got to the gate. A lot of fans recognized him, and a few people got pictures. He was very accommodating and then he was escorted away from the gate because the flight was delayed because the gate person said that the plane was too hot because it had been sitting all day and had to cool down.”
Tyson was escorted back to the American Airlines Lounge (perhaps he ran into the cereal dude…) to wait out the delay.
The flight finally took off and was uneventful until about 30 minutes prior to landing, when a pre-recorded medical announcement asking if there was a doctor onboard was played throughout the aircraft. An eyewitness added:
“Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even came on everyone’s screens.”
The flight landed at LAX and pulled up to the gate, where paramedics boarded the aircraft to examine Tyson.
Whatever was the matter (apparently an ulcer), Tyson is now okay, as confirmed by his spokesperson:
“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
Perhaps Tyson should have skipped the in-flight meal…

Tho it wathn’t thpinal?
Miami and Los Angeles are both aptly named “Retardville” on American airlines award maps .
Who is Mike Tyson, again?
In answer to your question, Mike was a talented boxer who is also childish and emotionally vulnerable that led to him either being exploited by various people or being goaded into confrontations. This is a bit of a clickbait story (which is ok) in that a passenger not feeling well but otherwise getting over it wouldn’t be newsworthy ordinarily.
You’re not serious are you?
Wow. Poor Mike. Frankly he looks like he has not aged well. A good reason to question if boxing is a sport to be continued.
Idk, at 58 he looks like a beast that could still kill 99.99% of humans with one punch
Kind of, but I am not so sure he might know who is killing. We also had Sugar Ray Leonard in the neighborhood. Both Mike and SRL have admitted to problems from the sport. Wish them both well.
Why would he use the AC and not the FL if he was on the 779 flight?
Looks suspiciously like Michael Jordan to me.
