LOT Polish Airlines, a Star Alliance member, will be the first European carrier to take delivery of Boeing’s 787 aircraft. The program is two years behind schedule, but the kinks finally appear to be ironed out and LOT is expected to take delivery of the aircraft next year.
Last week, LOT unveiled new livery and a new business class cabin that will be rolled out with the new aircraft. The livery is very similar to their current scheme–the only difference I notice is that the blue stripe over the window is gone. The paint job is simple yet elegant.
More importantly, the LOT 787 will feature horizontal lie-flat business class seats that will be a welcome replacement to the dated recliner seats they currently offer on their 767-300ERs.
With a new aircraft, new lie-flat business class seat, and new AVOD, I hope LOT releases a few awards seats because I am really looking forward to trying out their new cabin. With a nice new lounge in Warsaw, LOT has certainly caught my attention.
