Order Pizza from Chicago United Club

Matthew Klint Posted onMay 4, 2016December 5, 2016 4 Comments

United Airlines is refreshing its airport lounge network and bringing innovation in an area that has long been lacking — dining. You can now order food from Giordano’s from the comfort of your armchair in United’s newly-renovated lounge near B18 in Chicago O’Hare.

United has spruced up its Club food offerings already, with genuinely tasty soups and salads as well as improved food and drink, like illy coffee. Still, customers asked for more hearty meals and in least at one lounge in United’s Chicago hub, that option is now available in the form of pizza…good pizza I might add (I’ve enjoyed Giordano’s for years). Not just pizza, but “nosh” (another word for “food”) including mini-pretzel sticks and mini sausage skewers, as well as sandwiches and salad.

To order food, simply scan your boarding pass, order, pay by credit card, and take a timer — the food will be brought to you.

Sure, I’d rather see all food complimentary, but this is a good compromise — the food in United Clubs has improved dramatically and I view this as merely a helpful additional option.

It’s nice to be able to order pizza, but even the complimentary items like soup and salad are enough for a decent light meal

Nice. I’m flying through ORD today (and on UA!). Despite likely being in T2, I’ll have to make the trip over to B18 to check the new club offerings out. This has always been my favorite club, now it seems like it would be even better.

I really like this idea. I’m usually willing to pay a little extra for quality, something I’ve long wished the airlines would figure out.

By the way, if you want food that tastes pretty good but you have to pay for it, guess what. There are restaurants too in most airports.

Or we could just wait for ORD to eventually get a Centurion Lounge so we can eat awesome food and drink awesome beer for free! 🙂
