Inside the Honeymoon Suite of Pippa Middleton at Park Hyatt Sydney

Trust me, Live and Let’s Fly is not turning into the Daily Mail, but I could not resist this story. Feel free to skip it.

Pippa Middleton (sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) and James Matthews married last week and are spending the first part of their honeymoon in Australia at the Park Hyatt Sydney.

The Park Hyatt Sydney is one of my favorite hotels in the world and my favorite of all Hyatt properties worldwide. The Daily Mail reports they are in a $19,000/night suite.

As it happens, I have been inside that suite and even took pictures. My review of the three Park Hyatt properties in Australia is in the queue, but I happened to be down the hall from the honeymoon suite during my stay (in a modest deluxe opera view room).

One day I found the door to the honeymoon room open and a maid cleaning it. It was clear there were no guests occupying it, so I asked to have a look around and was obliged. It’s quite a suite:

a room with a view of the opera house and a large building

a room with a table and chairs and a lamp

a living room with a fireplace and couches

a room with a view of sydney opera house and water

a room with a couch and a desk

a living room with a fireplace and a couch

a kitchen with a marble countertop and chairs

a kitchen with a table and chairs

a kitchen with a sink and a faucet

a bed with a large headboard and a lamp

a bathtub in a room

a bathroom sink with two glasses

a white bathtub with silver faucets

a couple of white lounge chairs on a deck overlooking a body of water

a table and chairs on a balcony overlooking a city

I don’t know that I could ever spend $19,000/night for a room even if money was no object, but that is certainly a nice place to honeymoon. My wife and I also honeymooned at a Park Hyatt, though on the other side of the world in Paris. Our room was a tad smaller…

Congrats to the newlyweds. Enjoy the suite!
