So much for flying in F on LH’s A380…

Matthew Klint Posted onJune 14, 2010 2 Comments

I am starting to plan a trip to Thailand/China/North Korea/Japan for August and my goal was to snag a First Class seat on LH’s new A380.

Looks like I’ll have to look into other options.

"The [FRA-NRT] flight is almost fully booked through September with very strong bookings in first class," LH Chief Pilot and COO Juergen Raps told ATW Daily News onboard the flight from Berlin Schoenefeld to BRU.

I’m not going to give up yet, but it appears my first A380 trip is going to have to wait a little longer. I’ve already checked multiple times and not found anything. My bigger worry should probably be fighting Starnet blocking. Wouldn’t it be ironic if I actually found availability in F but couldn’t book it because of Starnet blocking? I think its time to look into Aeroplan.

LH is not offering F class seats on A380’s as reward seats. Like SIN they are coded differently. At this point the only way to get an F seat on a LH 380 is to pay for one.
Rumours are afoot that as LH changes their F class in existing aircraft F seats will not be available for reward seats on those flights.

@KT: That is what I thought too, but someone on flyertalk snagged an f seat using co miles, after the A380 was coded in.
