Cool: Turn Your Airline Window Seat Into A Stained Glass Chapel

Ok, I just love this innovative idea and cannot wait to try it out.

Transforming Your Airline Window From Dreary To Dazzling

Once we start flying again you can bring on your own portable “stained glass window” to give your airline window seat a whole new atmosphere.

Created by San Francisco-based designer Danielle Baskin, the goal is to make air travel more “hopeful and whimsical.”

The removable, reusable stickers cost $25-$50 each and are made of flexible plastic material that can be easily cleaned with soap and water or disinfectant. No adhesive required.

Fives sizes are available so that tailored for specific aircraft types:

  • Airbus
    • A330
    • A350
  • Boeing
    • 707/717/727/737/757/767 (is that really all one size?)
    • 777
    • 787

You can also buy the “frequent flyer 3-pack” for $100 which includes “stained glass” windows for three aircraft; the A330, 767, and 787. Click here to buy.

CONCLCUSION

To be clear, a particular environment is hardly necessary for prayer and mediation. Yet there are certain environments that are inherently more conductive to stillness and calm, qualities that are often lacking on airplanes with crammed seats and restless passengers.

Maybe it is all just a gimmick, but I am going to try these out and see if creates a more tranquil environment onboard.

Do they do a blackout version for the 787?

I hope we’re not sitting in the same row when you do try it out. Reminds me of church, which really messed with my head for the first 18 years of my life. Remember that post about people watching porn on a plane? 9Was that this site?) Inappropriate, As is attempting to duplicate a church environment in a setting where everyone isn’t on the same spiritual page (or book, for that matter). Please reconsider this.

I cannot wait for FAs to find a way to say you cannot add anything to the windows of the plane. It is just another opportunity for them to play “the boss” and kick you out of the plane.

If that is the case, buy some static cling window tint that people use on cars. There’s also a rectangular version that works with any car and used for kids.

Ok, the challenge is on. Now you are going to have to get one and use it on a flight to gage reaction. Please. For all of us.

I cannot see how any airline will allow this in practice.

Same here. NOT “Cool”. I guess Matthew isn’t responding to our counterpoint opinions.

I’m not really looking to offend anyone. If others find it offensive, I’ll just skip it and save it for my office window.

          Thank You. Stay Safe.

No way the FAA or airlines will permit this. Having a clear view to the outside to check for smoke, fire or obstruction is an important safety issue. Keep the window decorations in your house or office.

ahhh. you peel that atrocious piece of plastic in the aircraft I’m working – you will see if it ripped right off …just like the ripoff you experienced with buying it
