With an extended layover between flights, I had time to go lounge hopping in Buenos Aires. My first stop: the Star Alliance Lounge, now part of the Priority Pass network.
Upon landing I followed the signs for “international transit”, which took me to an area that included a passport check and security checkpoint.
Just past the checkpoint was a stairs and an elevator that went up to a quartet of lounges, including the Star Alliance lounge. The Star Alliance lounge is open 24/7, but only available to Priority Pass members between the hours of 10pm and 2pm. This makes sense as the bulk of Star Alliance flights to North America and Europe leave between 2pm and 10pm. It is also a Star Alliance Gold Lounge, available to all departing business and first class Star Alliance flyers as well as those with Star Alliance Gold status.
I love the decor of the lounge–bright colors, varied furniture, and some local touches.
As you enter the lounge, pick up a voucher with the internet code. Internet worked very well for most of my stay, though for one period of about 15 minutes it simply slowed to a crawl. Plugs are available throughout the lounge, some universal and some local.
Food is a disappointment. The breakfast selection was quite paltry, with a weak selection of cereals, bread, cold cuts and cookies. The only interesting item was ceviche. The coffee was also very forgettable.
A smaller buffet was available in the back of the lounge.
There are several private bathroom and showers as well on the right side of the lounge.
I stayed from about 5am to 8am and by 8am the lounge had cleared out. Once the morning flights on Avianca and COPA depart, it’s only Priority Pass folks in the lounge.
CONCLUSION
The Star Alliance Lounge in Buenos Aires (EZE) is respectable, with a great interior design and fairly good wi-fi. You likely won’t be satisfied if you plan to dine here, but the snacks will certainly tide you over till your flight.
The alfajores are the main reason I like to visit this lounge! Did you not try them?
Looks like a mix between Amex and CX lounges, pretty impressive. Minus the catering.
Hello. This was a very informative article. Thank you very much.
Quick question, if you have time. My wife and I are flying business class (first time) from Buenos Aires to Newark on United Airlines. Having never had the opportunity to experience a Star Alliance lounge, am I correct in my understanding that our business class tickets will allow us to access this lounge? If so, can we access this lounge at 6pm (our flight departs at 9pm)? And lastly, what is complimentary? Eaties? Alcohol?
Cheers!
John
Hi John,
You are going to love business class! I wish you a great trip.
You will have access to this lounge in Buenos Aires and all food and drink is free.
As an added bonus, you’ll have access to the beautiful Polaris Lounge in Newark after landing:

Thank you for this informative article.
Due to a flight rescheduling on Aerolineas, my husband and I are flying up from Patagonia early in the morning, and have a 10 hour layover in Buenos Aires before our business class flight back to the states.
Could you tell me if there is an area for storage of carry-on luggage anywhere at the Star Alliance Lounge at Buenos Aires EZE (so we can make a quick jaunt to the city center without the carry-on)?
I have searched and searched, and can’t find an e-mail address for the Buenos Aires Star Alliance Lounge. If you have that information in addition, that would be much appreciated.
Thank you, Anne
Hi Anne,
I looked through my pictures carefully and did not see any additional pictures of luggage storage facilities.
