Some call it creative. Others call it a sign of desperation. I call it stupid.
The TSA is hiring at Washington Dulles and Reagan National and has resorted to a peculiar medium of advertising…pizza boxes.

The boxes, pictured above, are bedecked with the following slogans:
“A career where x-ray vision and Federal benefits come standard.”
“See yourself in a vital role of Homeland Security. Be a part of a dynamic security team protecting airport and skies as you proudly secure your future.”
X-ray vision comes standard? How cute.
TSA pay ranges from $15-23/hour. In this down economy, it seems to me that the TSA could recruit some pretty bright people with the wages and benefits currently offered. Is advertising on a pizza box really necessary? I think not.
This latest ad campaign is just another example of the TSA continuing to waste tax dollars. As if the TSA’s overstaffing at small airports like HSV, BIS, and BUR was not bad enough, now they’re throwing away tax dollars on pizza boxes. Sadly, I’m not surprised. Unionization is next.
Maybe they will offer up a new position: “Director of Taxpayer Waste at TSA” Keep up the good work, Matthew!
@John: That wouldn’t surprise me either!
Thanks for your comment.
I just came across this. Pretty funny, actually, and dare I say the medium is correctly targeted? (I order pizzas, too, however…)
