Turkish Airlines’ heart is in the right place, but the timing of a new billboard is untimely, to put it nicely…
During my last trip from LAX, I parked on Century Boulevard near the In-N-Out Burger and walked to the airport. As I entered the employee parking lot next to LAXit, I looked up and noticed a new billboard from Turkish Airlines:
“Time To Meet Again”
Oh, this is sentiment that I concur with. In theory, though. Not practice. That’s because borders are still closed, the vaccination has not been rolled out to adequate levels, and the virus continues to spread at alarming rates, particularly in Los Angeles.
Still, I do look forward to that day when it is time to meet again. I greatly look forward to that day.
This is not the first advertising snafu Turkish Airlines has encountered. Remember the escalator ad from a decade ago? Instead of climbing high into the sky the plane was crashing into the ground.
CONCLUSION
I’m not “offended” by this Turkish Airlines ad…oh how it it is time to meet again. But should an airline be trying to sell tickets now by saying “time to meet again?” That seems a bit premature to me…
Your thoughts on the Turkish Airlines billboard at LAX?
Better than this Turkish ad

I did mention that! 😉
They had it ready to go on a successful vaccine news.
Little did they bank on the utter incompetence of the govt. Of white Republican males.
The only large country to have more COVID-19 vaccinations completed per capita than the US is the UK. Continental European nations and our sanctimonious little brother to the north lag far behind. But white American men bad, right? Need I remind you how Democrats and their propagandists in the media were saying Trump’s talk of getting a vaccine by the end of 2020 was magical thinking? Debit, you’re just as bad as UA-TDS. Funnier!

From George Meyer’s Army Man:
BRIDE: (QUIETLY, TEARFUL) Ladies and gentlemen…I’m afraid there won’t be a wedding after all. Because, you see…my fiancé has…has died.
HECKLER FROM BACK PEW: Louder!
BRIDE: (LOUDER, ALMOST HYSTERICAL) My fiancé has died!
ANOTHER HECKLER: Funnier!
UAE, Bahrain, and Israel are all beating the US …
Reading comprehension, Hank B. Please note that I qualified my post with “The only large country.” Americans don’t really compare themselves to the UAE, Bahrain or Israel, do they? The combined population of those three countries doesn’t even add up to that of Florida. Western European or even East Asian nations would be more comparable. My point was about the vaccination rollout not being so efficient in those comparable countries.
Of course the biggest Trumpette on this site won’t refer to the number of deaths, overworked medical staff, and other carnage caused by his Fuhrer. But then the truth isn’t friends with cargocult ajd its fellow Trumpettes
He is delusional, this post had nothing to do with Trump at all, yet his TDS is overflowing. Really a sad person.
Deranged TDSers can’t tell the difference between someone who opposes them for substantive reasons and those who blindly follow Trump since they don’t see reason themselves. I was responding specifically to Debit’s comment about vaccination and white Republican males. I think the Trump administration could have handled the pandemic better overall, but that wasn’t at issue here, which was incompetence regarding the vaccinations, a vaccine that Trump’s opponents said wouldn’t even be available by now. Maybe, just maybe, Trump had been advised of mRNA technology that would make a vaccine available much more quickly than in the past. Even in late October leftist medical Twitter was saying ‘FACT: There is absolutely *NO* vaccine coming in just “a few weeks.”’ Pfizer announced its vaccine on Nov. 9. But you TDSers love “science,” right?

Biontech and Pfizer should not be credited to the trump administration. Biontech started working on a vaccine much before trump had gotten his head out of his ass about covid.
Trump rides on the coattails of competence of others and claims all the credit. If after 4 years this isn’t clear to someone, it’s hard to take them seriously.
Of course, none of you has any idea who George Meyer is. Just a dour bunch of woke TDS scolds.
Sarcasm. Even screw up country like Turkey seeing the future with optimism. While the great USA is invading USA to give freedom and democracy to USA, from USA.
Leftists hate freedom because it prevents them from forcing their own proscribed version of it upon you.
You really just hate yourself it seems. Get a life.
Says the fatty who incessantly posts pure ad hominem. Why do you hate America, UA-TDS? Seriously, I’d like to know. Why do you want America to be destroyed by a black Marxist organization? Is it some sort of fetishization of black folx? That’s racist, you know. Are you a self-hating white racist? Keep hoppin’ on that box. Shake off that racial bigotry. You can do it!
A lot of advertising is aspirational, I think of this the same way.
Turkish are planting the idea of wanting to travel again — when it’s possible.
