United Airlines will soon take delivery of its first 10 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft and has revealed what routes these new aircraft will fly on.

What’s a MAX 9? It’s the latest version of the 737 from Boeing, featuring “Advanced Technology winglets” that make the aircraft more fuel efficient and provides a quieter ride.

United’s variant of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 will feature 179 seats including:

  • 20 United First seats in a 2-2 configuration
  • 48 in Economy Plus in a 3-3 configuration (34 inches of pitch)
  • 111 United Economy seats in a 3-3 configuration (30+ inches of pitch)

Power outlets, wi-fi, and streaming in-flight-entertianments will be available in both cabins.

The aircraft will initially operate out of Houston and Los Angeles, with the aircraft slated to serve mid haul routes including Los Angeles to Honolulu service and Houston to Anchorage.

IAH to AUS? Gonna have to find a way to make that happen. Come with me and I’ll take you out for BBQ in Austin afterwards 🙂

Also I think there’s a typo in your chart. I assume IAH-MCO departs at 7:38 PM given the arrival time.

I believe the IAH-MCO flight is indeed 7:35 AM on June 5, making that the first 737 MAX 9 flight.

More coach seats crammed in, smaller E+ section, tiny bathrooms…yes, we can’t wait for this plane. SMH.

It’s true. Those bathrooms are horrible.

Thank God Denver is not getting these flights. I’ll do a lot to avoid b737 anything. Tired old design.

Will this new model be used for international flights..I am concerned now with this recent horrible event. I have a flight scheduled with United in July.
