In addition to the cheap $39 fares, there are also great deals between $59-99 as well, including for transcontinental flights.

You can check out all the city pairs on sale here.

Warning: these fares book into basic economy class, meaning you will not be able to bring a carry-on bag onboard unless you are a MileagePlus elite member or co-branded credit card holders. Checked baggage and seat assignments also cost extra and are not eligible for upgrades.

MileagePlus Discounts

You can also book these flights for as cheap as 5,900 miles and $5.60 in taxes. As cheap as this sounds, if you’re not getting at least 1.5 cents per points (meaning 5,900 points should buy a ticket that costs at least $88.50) you are wasting your miles.

CONCLUSION

Remember, all fares on United, including basic economy tickets (but only for travel though December 31, 2021), can be changed without fee. If you’re considering a trip and can find cheap pricing, now may be a good time to lock in and even if your plans change, you’ll still have a voucher good for the full value of the ticket.

Ual routes on these cheap flts are some of the regional shuttle routes from the mid 90’s that were popular. The restrictions on these flts concerning seats, carryon bag, destination changes etc will make it work if pax READ and UNDERSTAND what is being offered. All the drama kings and queens looking for their 15 seconds on insane fame for YouTube need not fly. Aloha

Conversely, flights between IAD and ADD, which typically run $1,200 round trip in economy are now $7,000. What the hell???
