International Service
United will focus on leisure destinations and Star Alliance hub connectivity in Europe. Patrick Quayle, United’s VP of International Network and Alliances, said:
“United’s international schedule continues to be guided by customer demand as we add back capacity in regions with relative strength. For August, we’ve seen increasing demand for leisure travel and have added options to places like Cancun and reinstated service to Tahiti. Additionally, we are further building out service to partner hubs like Frankfurt and Zurich, where customers can connect on to a wide array of destinations.”

CONCLUSION
With an uptick in COVID-19 cases once again and new shutdowns already announced in California, Florida, and Texas, United will still need to be nimble. Plus, planned pre-pandemic schedules are still for sale. Expect schedules to be updated this week and schedule changes to existing itineraries this weekend.
Matt
Would you happen to have a breakdown of total flights out of each hub ??
Thanks
United management (like much of the U.S. population) is living in a dream world. And that dream is quickly morphing into a national nightmare. To quote Margo Channing: “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.”
Wow. Impeccable timing by United. Let’s rack up a few more inter-state quarantines before this schedule kicks in.
Might be a good time to also ask UA why they don’t have any United Clubs open in EWR (when they have at least one open in every other hub)
Isn’t C74 open?
Nope – was there a week ago, tried. “Customer service only”. SMH.
We have a flight booked from Philadelphia to Jackson Wyoming on August 20, with a return from Bozeman Montana to Philadelphia on August 31, and those flight have now disappeared from United’s booking system, as well as a dozen or two other flights from Philadelphia to Jackson on August 20th. What gives? When I called United, they told me that all four legs of our flights inbound and outbound were fully booked (“red” in their system and not allowing bookings). But we just booked our seats two days ago, and there were many seats remaining, so how could the flights be sold out? Is United getting ready to cancel our flights altogether? We have not received any sort of cancellation notice yet. United to say that if we had a concern they would be happy to refund our ticket price within 11 business days. I’m on the fence as to what to do.
This is sad. United is beefing up its schedule to get people to buy tickets, but they will only to have to cancel the flights later as this virus spreads. I hope people don’t fall victim to this. It feels like a 3-shell game scam. Shameful.
With recent COVID-19 trends, this seems like a real possibility.
