New Cookies Onboard United Polaris Business Class

Chocolate is out, cookies are in. And not just any cookies, but delicious white chocolate cranberry cookies.

When United first unrolled its Polaris business soft product, every longhaul flight began with a chocolate truffle in premium cabins. Currently United passes out chocolate with the pre-arrival meal service.

But that changes on May 01st, when United ditches the chocolate in favor of cookies.

In response to customer feedback, beginning May 1, United will offer customers a pre-arrival dessert in place of the pre-departure chocolate that is currently served. On flights departing the U.S., customers will be served a white chocolate cranberry cookie from Christie Cookie Co., handcrafted from gourmet ingredients in Nashville, Tenn. Customers on flights that originate outside the U.S. will receive a box of chocolates.

I truly love cookies. In fact, it is dangerous to leave a plate of cookies near me. Some of you may not like the change, but I wholeheartedly endorse it, especially after sampling the cookies.

I may have had one several yesterday at the new Polaris Lounge in SFO. The lady encouraged me to “take some home” and I did…

That sign is going to have to be re-printed since “Polaris First” will soon be a relic of the past…

These are excellent cookies: my wife vouches for them too. Chocolate will still be served on flights originating outside the USA.

Yum! I love their cookies! (well, the Doubletree ones, anyway) :-p Were you able to take advantage of all the lounge facilities during the preview, like the showers, daybeds, and dining? Can’t wait to see the rest of your photos!

If I am to load myself with calories from a cookie I prefer the fresh baked Delta serves on international business class. The entire plane smells chocolate cookies. Hard to say no.

Delta’s are great, but I prefer these.

They should at least warm them up for a premium cabin service

Glad the chocolates remain for the international origins – they are a touch of class

Are these cookies going to be served like in the picture, inside of a plastic wrapper? After arriving in Europe, following a TATL flight, I’m not likely to want to eat a cookie, but would certainly throw a packaged one in my bag for later in the day

Good thing it isn’t a wrapped apple for customs to find so they can offer a $400 fine. Oh wait, that’s Delta.

        I’d still declare the cookies.

I wouldn’t worry about declaring a cookie arriving into Germany. Just walk through the green lane.

They will be served in a plastic wrapper unless you want them warmed.
