United Airlines Evacuates Crews From Tel Aviv

With the security situation in Israel unclear, United Airlines and Air Canada have suspended service and evacuated crews from Tel Aviv.

After Iran Attack, United Airlines, Air Canada Evacuated Crews From Tel Aviv

Last month, United Airlines resumed nonstop service from Newark (EWR) to Tel Aviv (TLV), becoming the first US carrier to do so. The service initially made a technical stop in Munich (MUC) to avoid crew overnights in Tel Aviv, but until last weekend, crew overnights had resumed.

Meanwhile, Air Canada just resumed serving Tel Aviv from its Toronto Pearson (YYZ) hub on April 8, the second North American carrier to resume service.

But after Iran launched a missile and drone attack against Israel, United and Air Canada have again suspended service. Furthermore, Air Canada and United have evacuated their crews from Israel on a special charter flight to Munich. A United memo reviewed by Live And Let’s Fly shares that both Air Canada and United crews traveled on the same flight out of Tel Aviv.

We have canceled our flight into TLV today. As the safety of our crews and customers remains the top priority, a rescue flight departed TLV for MUC with remaining crews that were laying over in TLV, moving our crews out of the region and we will have them positioned to return when it’s safe to do so.

This flight also carried a few crew members from our Star Alliance partner Air Canada.

The Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), the union representing flight attendants at United, confirmed the evacuation flight.

United had originally hoped to resume service to Amman, Jordan (AMM) yesterday, but ultimately canceled the flight. United’s Dubai (DXB) service did operate yesterday from Newark.

CONCLUSION

There’s no word yet when service to Tel Aviv will resume on United and Air Canada. As Israel weighs its response to the Iranian attack, tension in the region could further be inflamed in the days ahead.

Seems like a detour is possible for EWR-DXB but UA didn’t want to risk going to AMM despite Jordan reopening its airspace.

Can only hope for peace in the region.

TWA would not have suspended service , and they had been repeat-victims of the Palestinians over the years .

Fortunately , Israel’s enemies are all nut-job gangs who cannot shoot straight .

Yeah, only Israel is good at committing genocide.

First genocide ever where the victim population grows 3x faster than world average.

Hamas’s only remaining weapon is Palestinian misery, and they aim to maximize it.

At least genocide is not an Israeli mission as it is in the Palestinian Mission Statement. What do you think from the River to the Sea means?

Glad to see it. As long as the gencide of Palestinans continues, we should have nothing to do with the Zionst regime

(and to be clear, I loathe the Iranian regime too with a passion)

According to Statista, the Gaza Strip’s population in 2023 was around 2.1 million people. In 2005, the population was 1.3 million. This means that the population has grown by 53% since 2005..
    Genocide indeed.

Wow Delta unironically was smart to not immediately relaunch service despite how much Ben from OMAAT was slamming them for their strategy.

    Thank you, Iran.
