United Airlines Suspends Service To Italy, Reduces Service To Israel

United Airlines will suspend service to Italy and reduce service to Israel in light of developing threats and government bans.

United Suspends Service To Italy

With Italy on nationwide lockdown and all but essential services like grocery stores and pharmacies shut down, United will suspend service to both Milan (MXP) and Rome (FCO).

The service suspension will begin tomorrow, March 13th, and run through April 30th.

Passengers whose flights have been cancelled can rebook via Lufthansa or other United partners or will likely be eligible for a refund (though United has not explicitly confirmed this yet).

United Reduces Service to Israel

Israel is sealing itself off from the world, announcing that all foreigners will not be allowed into Israel, unless they can sufficiently prove they will self-quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival.

United’s initial response is a suspension of its new Washington Dulles (IAD) – Tel Aviv (TLV) service from April 1st – 30th.

UA 90/91 between Newark (EWR) and Tel Aviv will continue to operate daily, but UA84/85, the afternoon departure from Newark, will be reduced to three times weekly from April 1st – April 30th.

UA954/955 between San Francisco (SFO) and Tel Aviv will also be reduced to three times weekly from April 1st – 30th.

CONCLUSION

If Israel remains closed off, I expect further reductions in service. If your travel plans are impacted, you may be able to re-schedule on united.com or the United app without having to call United (hold times are terrible).

Is your travel impacted? Leave a comment below about how United re-accommodated you.

The question is, is trump toast in November. A few weeks were enough to show us his incompetence.

But i have faith in the stupidity of Americans. I think there is a chance he may still win.

As usual, Israel is taking brave action in ways that other countries should have done weeks ago (China, many others). I am glad our President is following suit. No thanks to the European countries which allowed this disease to fester and spread globally.
