United Airlines To Offer Swanky Cowshed Amenity Kits

United Airlines is teaming up with Cowshed Spa, a division of Soho House, to offer brand new amenity kits in intercontinental premium cabins and United lounges.

Beginning Aug. 1, 2015, United will exclusively offer Soho House’s Cowshed skin-care products onboard in newly redesigned amenity kits for premium-cabin customers on intercontinental flights. Also, a collection of Cowshed products will be available in many of the carrier’s United Club locations and other lounges.

Since its founding in London in 1995 as a private members’ club, Soho House has expanded to include Houses across Europe and North America, as well as restaurants, cinemas, spas and hotels, with Condé Nast Traveler naming Soho House Chicago to its 2015 list of the hottest hotels.

Lauded by Cosmopolitan magazine UK as a “super-stylish beauty brand,” all of Cowshed’s award-winning products are made in England from the best in organic, wildcrafted and fairly traded plant extracts and essential oils. United customers will enjoy formulations inspired by the scents of an English country garden, with playful names designed to lift spirits and relax travelers.

The bags look great — very stylish — and come with a separate toiletry bag for liquids that will pass muster in most airports (except, ironically, London Heathrow, where the matrons manning security insist upon LHR’s own cheap ziploc bags!).

United Airlines Cowshed Amenity Kits

Look for these new amenity kits onboard flights starting next month. Contents will include:

  • Cowshed’s Moisturising Hand Cream
  • Lippy Cow Natural Lip Balm
  • Chamomile Refreshing Towelette.
  • Signature Socks
  • Signature Eye Mask
  • Tissues
  • Ear Plugs
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Dental Floss

First Class amenity kits will also offer:

  • Cowshed’s Quinoa Hydrating Daily Moisturiser
  • Jasmine Toning Eye Balm

Cowshed Products in Premium Cabin Lavatories

Premium cabin lavatories will also include Cowshed products:

  • Chamomile Refreshing Toner
  • Lavender Gentle Cleanser

Cowshed Products in United Lounges

United Club shower facilities will offer Cowshed’s Cowlick Gentle Shampoo, Saucy Cow Softening Conditioner, Knackered Cow Relaxing Bath, and Shower Gel and Knackered Cow Relaxing Body Lotion in:

  • Chicago
  • New York/Newark
  • Houston
  • Hong Kong
  • London
  • San Francisco

Cowshed hand wash and moisturising hand cream will also be available in the above facilities as well as in United Global First lounges in

  • Chicago
  • San Francisco
  • Washington, D.C.
  • London
  • Hong Kong
  • Tokyo

(still miss the Global First lounge in Los Angeles)

This seems like a nice enhancement, but beware: United’s track record of introducing customer-friendly “enhancements” that truly are customer-friendly has been woeful. But I will withhold further judgment until August.
