Ellen Degenerate and hilarious do not belong in the same sentence.
While I blame a lot of the misunderstanding on United’s Communications team, I can’t believe how many people get the basic facts of Basic Economy wrong. Sorry Ellen, luggage can go in the overhead compartment, it’s just that full-size carry-ons won’t be allowed in Basic Economy unless the user has a co-brand card or is elite.
