Air Canada has announced that FlyDubai is now an Aeroplan partner. As on Emirates edemption rates are much higher than other partners in the region, but still represent an important value-add for Aeroplan.
FlyDubai Is The Latest Air Canada Aeroplan Partner
As of December 6, 2023, FlyDubai has become the latest Aeroplan partner, with redemptions available across its route map between Dubai (DXB) and destinations in Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
I flew FlyDubai from Kabul, Afghanistan to Dubai in 2012.
FlyDubai is state-owned and works closely with Emirates, also an Air Canada Aeroplan partner, but is a separate carrier.
- Flights will be priced based on Aeroplan’s pricing for travel on Emirates special award chart (below)
- Members will be able to book flydubai flights online at aircanada.com, through the Air Canada mobile app, or via Aeroplan’s Contact Center
- Flights can be combined with flights operated by Air Canada and our other international airline partners
- Flydubai flights are eligible for redemption in economy and business class cabins
- The partner booking fee will apply for flight rewards which include travel on Flydubai
- No surcharges on these awards
As you can see, pricing runs much higher than other Aeroplan partners, particularly in premium cabins.
Nevertheless, I find the ability to redeem on FlyDubai an important value-add and likely representative of the sort of deal Air Canada was unique in striking. Better to have an option than no option at all…
Stackable Chase Transfer Bonus To Aeroplan
In addition to the new FlyDubai partner, today Air Canada also announced a new Chase Ultimate Rewards tarsier bonus;
Aeroplan members will receive a 20% points bonus when transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan through January 15, 2024.
This new offer is stackable with the existing 10% bonus for Chase Aeroplan cardmembers when transferring 50,000 or more Ultimate Rewards points in a single transaction (the bonus is capped at 25,000 bonus points per calendar year).
This means Chase Aeroplan cardmembers get 30% bonus points when converting at least 50K Chase Ultimate Rewards points during this promotion.
As long as Aeroplan does not devalue without notice, this represents a very good deal.

CONCLUSION
I’m so impressed that Aeroplan continues to add partners…it remains one of my favorite programs. FlyDubai redemptions may not represent a great value compared to other partners like Gulf Air (and Etihad and Oman Air, at least in theory), but having the additional option is an important value-add to the program.
As much as I love Aeroplan, there are some issues lately that have greatly concerned me. Stay tuned for that. That would not stop me, however, from taking advantage of the generous new Chase transfer bonus, which I do intend to take advantage of.
