Are the Etihad First Class A380 Apartments Worthwhile?

Matthew Klint Posted onDecember 30, 2015December 5, 2016 2 Comments

Etihad has released a generous amount of first class award space on its A380 Abu Dhabi to New York Kennedy flight. Etihad’s trend-setting “First Apartments” on this flight certainly set a standard for spaciousness in a first class seat. But is all the hype worth it?

My wife and I flew in the Etihad First Apartments from London to Abu Dhabi earlier this week and I can only say the answer is YES. Not only was the flight one of the most magnificent I have ever experienced, the hard product lived up to its reputation.

Here are a few teaser pictures–

The bottom line is that this is a phenomenal product and a simply incredible use of your AAdvantage miles prior to the March 2016 devaluation. If you are looking for an aspirational use of your miles, look no further than Etihad. My flight from London to Abu Dhabi was great, but at seven hours it was far too short — the New York (or Sydney/Melbourne) routes allow for time to fully experience Etihad First Class. You can bet that I am eyeing at least one personal redemption. Book or hold space now before the space is scooped up by others.

@Mike S: If AA agents cannot see space you see on EY website, call AA Australia office. They will be able to book.
