During my recent trip to Bangkok I enjoyed a lot of great coffee. Here are several places I highly recommend for delicious espresso drinks in the Thai capital.
Best Coffee In Bangkok
After being freed from quarantine, I went on a coffee run and found several lovely cafés in Bangkok.
First, I walked to a place called Artis.
Artis Coffee
390, 20 Sukhumvit Soi 18
Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
7:00AM – 8:00PM (daily)

Artis boasts that “all our single origin coffee beans are fresh roasted in our shop.” I ordered a flat white and it was delivered to my table with beautiful latte art resembling a swan. More importantly, the espresso was tremendous (strong, bold, and chocolatey).
Pastries, sandwiches, and other food are available as well.
Next, I went to a place called Ceresia.
Ceresia Coffee Roasters
593, 29-41 Sukhumvit Rd
Klongton Nua, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
8:00AM – 5:00PM (daily)

This place is down a small side street near the end of the street, across from a grocery store. It’s cash-only, so be warned (unless you have a Thai bank card).
The workers were very friendly here and invited me to sit down while they made my coffee, another flat white.
Once again, it was a delicious coffee.
For my last coffee of day one, I went to a cool little scone shop right near the Hyatt Place called Mustard.
Mustard, The Scone Shop
670, 672 Sukhumvit Rd
Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
7:00AM – 5:00PM (Monday – Saturday)
Closed Sundays

I was happy to enjoy another delicious flat white, but I enjoyed a delicious fig scone with homemade preserves…a perfect afternoon treat. This place was also cash or QR code only.
Bangkok Coffee Day Two
The following day, I walked across the street from the Grand Hyatt to Central World to try two more coffee shops.
First, I stopped at Alto, a coffee shop located within the ZEN department store at Central World.
Alto Coffee Roasters
5th floor อาคาร Zen, Ratchadamri Rd
Pathum Wan, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok 10330, Thailand

I’ve tried coffee at Nordstrom’s in the USA and been very disappointed. Would this department store offer better coffee?
Yes! Another lovely flat white!
For my final stop, I went to a place called Arabica Coffee (%) on the lower level. This is a coffee chain in Bangkok and appears to trade under the percentage sign symbol (%).
% ΔRΔBICΔ Thailand
4 4/1-4/2 Rama I Rd
Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand
8:00AM – 8:00PM (daily)
Very good coffee here, but no ceramic cups were available.
Bangkok Coffee Day Three
Before heading to the airport my last morning, I had coffee at a place called The Coffee Club, located adjacent to the Hyatt Regency. This is another Australian-based coffee chain with multiple locations in Bangkok.
The Coffee Club
1 Soi Sukhumvit 13
Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
9:00AM – 5:00PM (daily)

In addition to coffee, an extensive food menu and specialty teas were available. But the coffee is good…very good, in fact.
Which coffee was best? I have to say % was my favorite. But all were lovely and I recommend each one without reservation.
And don’t forget the Grand Hyatt Erawan, which also served superb coffee in the restaurant.
As did the Park Hyatt:
CONCLUSION
Bangkok has a great coffee scene and I was happy to enjoy many great cups of coffee. If you’re a coffee lover, you will not be disappointed in Bangkok.
I believe % Arabica started in Kyoto, Japan. I enjoyed some delicious coffee of theirs in Kyoto a few years ago. It was highly recommended and very busy when I visited. Really enjoyed it. They’ve definitely expanded their footprint, which is nice to see.
What I find interesting is the difference in prices by store. I thought a few places might be more expensive because of the location but that wasn’t the case
% Arabica looks beautiful!
I recommended this list. Great coffee with reasonable price!
– factory coffee (Phayathai BTS station)
– gallery coffee drip (Bangkok art centre BACC – opposite MBK)
– somersault (this is my fav coffee shop so far)
– Ristretto (Latprao 71) **best espresso for me.. but owner quite lack of service mind
Thanks for the suggestions! Bangkok has so many great coffee shops.
I noticed most of not all the cafe signs are in English. Is English spoken widely in Thailand?
No matter where you go in Thailand you can always find a good coffee shop with fast wifi and English. I recall coffee drinks costing somewhere in the THB 35-60 range in the past (2013-2019). Perhaps Bangkok is just more expensive nowadays. I honestly cannot ever remember spending THB 100+ on coffee. Still cheap, but on the rise in the big city, I suppose.
I would have greatly preferred to pay 35THB!
Blue Tree was my hangout. I just looked and nothing on the menu is over THB 70. It’s worth a visit just for the ride on the Mahanak speedboat, which is without a doubt Bangkok’s best public transport secret.
Do you know your Arabica from Robusta as well as a blend of both?
What do you think you drank in these cafes?
Meh.
The best part of your blog, keep up the good coffee work! 🙂
One of the things I always do for new destinations is to mark the best coffee shops I can find on Google Maps. We’re be heading to southern Spain next week for six weeks and I’ve already marked a loads of cafes to explore.
