Drunk American Airlines Flight Attendant Rushes Gate Before Pants Fall Down
An American Airlines flight attendant named “Chris” was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) after showing up intoxicated for duty and attempting to board a flight in an obviously impaired state. Police bodycam footage shows the man rushing the gate area, slurring his words, and needing to be restrained by officers after refusing to comply with commands.
As first reported by View From The Wing, the uniformed crew member appeared heavily intoxicated, reportedly shouting incoherently and pulling his pants up and down as officers approached. Police eventually placed a spit hood over his head and transported him in a restraint chair, a procedure designed for individuals actively resisting arrest.
During the conversation, he admitted to assaulting a gate agent and drinking a bottle and a half of Champagne on his way to work. His supervisor, who snatched his bag from him, also allegedly found several empty alcohol mini bottles inside.
The man was later charged with public intoxication and criminal mischief. You can watch the meltdown here:
While the footage, captured in May 2024 but only recently released, quickly went viral, there’s little humor in watching a crewmember in this condition. Alcohol dependency is a serious issue, and aviation is an industry with almost zero tolerance for it. FAA rules prohibit flight attendants from consuming alcohol within eight hours of duty, and some airlines set even stricter policies.
CONCLUSION
This was not a passenger meltdown or a viral TikTok stunt—it was a crewmember clearly in crisis. American Airlines is cooperating with law enforcement, but this flight attendant needs help… perhaps a transition from AA to AA (American Airlines to Alcoholics Anonymous). Flight attendants love to remind us that they are primarily here for our safety, but this case is a reminder that sobriety and safety go hand in hand in this business…this sad spectacle is a sobering reminder.

He’s not in crisis – he’s completely sh&tfaced.
Nice ‘marketing’… AA for AA…
Sad, and embarrassing.
Agree, very sad, he has lost his job and heaven only knows what is or has gone on in his life that he has gotten to this point, fully drunk, daytime, on his way to work, etc.
I try to be completely empathetic. This could be a brother, father, husband or close friend and very distressing to see . Hope he gets sober and help that he needs to start over again.
Very sad. He has now lost his job, has a police record. Heaven only knows what is or was going on in his life to get him to this drunken state during daytime hours, on his way to work, I try to have empathy. How would you or I feel if this was our brother, father, husband or close friend ? Hope he gets sober and gets help to restart again.
Well that’s a quick way of ending the 6 week beginning of a possible career ♂️. When will people realize that alcohol is NOT their friend. Period.
How does medical leave work with flight crew? Corporate America you can go on FMLA to go to rehab and your work doesn’t have to know what the fmla is for. Do flight crew have to report their condition? I always feel so bad for those with addiction or mental health issues; it not easy asking for help especially if it affects your income and livelihood
My whole adult career has been in aviation-related careers with zero-tolerance for drug and alcohol abuse. I went from military flight crew to spaceflight engineering. Other people are dependent on you, and nobody’s family wants to hear or will accept these sob excuses in the comments for someone who is far from childhood. Aviation is completely unforgiving of this sort of misconduct, and doesn’t care about feelings. You can’t handle life’s difficulties without chuckin pills or living at the bottom of a bottle, pick another field. AA will find someone else who appreciates the opportunity.
What responsible adult is drinking a Moet and a half during the day only six weeks into a job? Police stomp people for much less.
