You’re on a flight from Denver to Williston, North Dakota when all of the sudden a FA blurts out (over the PA): “If your seatbelt isn’t tight, you f***** up.”
That’s not funny. That’s vulgar. Then the FA sits on the lap of another passenger, running her hand down his chest. That’s concerning. Especially when that same FA is the one who is supposed to get the aircraft evacuated in 30 seconds if an emergency arises.
One passenger tweeted:
Thanks United, for a terrifying flight! Drunk or stoned stewardess endangered everybody’s lives. I had to go to the cockpit and call the pilot and tell him they had an out of control attendant. The cops and an ambulance were waiting for her when we landed.
She did indeed alert the captain and upon arriving in Williston law enforcement officials were waiting to meet the aircraft. Per ABC 7, The FA failed a sobriety test and was arrested.
United issued the following statement:
We are aware of a concerning incident involving a flight attendant serving on our regional service provider Trans States Airlines flight 4689. As a gesture of goodwill, we have compensated all customers aboard the flight and we apologize for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused. The safety of our customers and crew aboard all United and Trans States flights is a top priority.
Pending investigation, the Trans States FA has been removed from service.
CONCLUSION
Looks like United’s Chief Communications Officer may need to come to work a few days early.

Wow, that pic and her facial expression..it symbolises UA’s picture at the moment..messed-up, out of control, helpless..that new ComOff should start as earliest as possible and definitely should not be a “Spicer”!
I hope she got hammered with something better than the wines United serves on their flights.

How did she get so far? Nobody at the airport noticed? She pilots didn’t notice before the flight? Don’t they have to have at least some minimal interaction before take off? How about the gate agent working the flight?
her problem is more than booze
That’s my guess as well. Certain very common anti-anxiety meds mixed with booze can mess a person up very quickly.
Isn’t there mandatory screening for these substances? After all, believing the spin put out on behalf of FAs , their true role is safety….consequently they should be drug free when flying.
The challenge would be Ativan, Valium, Zanex, etc are legally prescribed. Mix them with a small amount of booze and it can get very dicey. Periodic screening is inefficetive for this type of mixing.
United really needs to give serious punishment and/or discussions with their “regional” carriers. The Dao incident and many others have happened on these useless pieces of metal. United does not hire the crews for these airlines (Trans States Airlines and others, etc). I’m sick of reading “United” as the culprit. Discipline or fire the employees of those other airlines and start naming the CEO’s of those other airlines.

Keep in mind she is an employee of Trans States and probably flew for Delta and American as well. This is not strictly a United problem.
