“Stop Telling Me To Wear A Mask Or I’ll Slap The S— Out Of You!” (Just Another Miami Flight On American Airlines)

An American Airlines flight from Miami was forced to return to the gate after two unruly, intoxicated passengers cursed out a flight attendant when told to wear masks.

Drunk Passengers Act Stupid: Just Another American Airlines Flight From Miami

The incident occurred onboard AA322 from Miami (MIA) to Newark (EWR) on November 9th. After pushing back on-time, the flight was delayed 48 hours after a pair of allegedly drunk passengers refused to keep their masks on.

AA flight 0322 from Miami to Newark. Delayed an hour and returned to gate due to two drunk unruly passengers on flight making a ruckus. Cursing at flight attendant about mask reminders.

— Lol (@Shiurklali) November 10, 2021

Hilariously, when approached by a member of ground staff, one passenger feigns innocence…”Who me?” (as if he did not know that he did anything wrong).

Flight attendants put up with a lot, though it seems that American Airlines flight attendants on flights to or from Miami are especially impacted by a disproportionate number of unruly passengers.

As always, only an idiot would think that he could curse out a flight attendant and it would simply be ignored (on American Airlines at least…). The idea that you are above the rules and can ignore them is a recipe for disaster when stepping onto an airplane.

Some will use this incident to call for a continued ban on alcohol. I don’t take that position. Arguably, this guy got drunk at the airport precisely because American Airlines is not offering portion-controlled servings of alcohol onboard. The lack of sales onboard encourages people to liquor up at the airport or bring illicit bottles onboard. What else could explain why the number of unruly passenger incidents are so much less on Delta and United, which sell alcohol in economy class on most flights?

CONCLUSION

Even while chuckling at the stupidity of these passengers, I shake my head – such rude behavior ended up delaying everyone into Newark. These passengers should receive a very hefty fine plus obligatory community service, perhaps the only thing that will teach them to be nice next time they fly.

That’s an astonishingly childish thing to say, and I’m not even a liberal to call you out on it. You can do better at adulting, I’ve seen it.

Astonishing childish or stupid is for someone not to recognize that Trump is no longer the president and keep blaming everything wrong on him. It is easy to blame everything wrong on him while you are doing a mediocre job. Look at the current President ratings. Abysmal!!! Wake up!!!

The “Brandon” would have been pretty clever – in third grade. Code terms, cuss words, lots of exclamation marks, alternative facts – things like that are a lot what 8 year old male childhood is about. Maybe I’m misreading you based solely on many many comments but I don’t think that’s you. It just make me feel pity when an eloquent person sinks to these childish levels and you don’t seem the type to want that pity. Come on, show us that you really are that better guy.

Imagine daily flights of English Football Hooligans. That’s the easiest explanation. They love Miami.

Not that English hooligans represent England, or these people are representative of the U.S. We just have to live with them. I know that’s not an Aussie comparison but the best I can come up with!

Miami is packed with visiting idiots and residents who live in a right wing echo chamber of willful ignorance. American Airlines is a shit airline that worships the idea of passengers being nothing more than self loading cargo. Pour alcohol on the mix and *poof*.

As an American, why is Australia still a thing? Sounds like the citizens are treated worse than the North Koreans by your government. Has to be the most cucked out land of all time treating their citizens like criminals for leaving the house. And to think we love Crocodile Dundee 35 years ago.

You say that this flight was supposed to leave yesterday the 9th but it’s been delayed 48 hours, which would mean a departure tomorrow. Is that accurate?

We have a white Republican male member of congress post a meme about killing another congress woman and violence against president and nothing happens.

Any other person, especially non white, would be in prison for doing that. So frankly i don’t buy the whole “The idea that you are above the rules and can ignore them is a recipe for disaster”.

Some people do get to ignore rules.

Allegedly drunk (?) or allegedly told to put their masks on ?

Yeah, they were probably jerks, but I know my blood starts to boil when told by thoughtlessly yammering FA’s to do something (that everybody did within 10 seconds) 25 more times.

Yes. It’s great that you know how to CYA with the word allegedly. Did I look to be drunk or unruly in the video?

“STOP TELLING ME TO WEAR A MASK OR I’LL SLAP THE S— OUT OF YOU!” #FAKENEWS

I was not drunk or unruly.

I was drinking a soda through a straw when I was approached by a flight attendant who aggressively said to me “you have to pull your mask up in between sips and in between bites” I acknowledged him and as he walked away I had a laugh about it with other surrounding passengers. Approximately 10 minutes later, the captain made an announcement that the plane was heading back to the gate due to some passengers “in the back of the plane that were refusing to properly wear a mask”. I was not in the back of the plane. My seat was in the first or second row after first class. Everyone, including the people that I had been traveling with pulled out their phones to video the people that were going to be removed from the plane. As demonstrated by the video, I was completely shocked that I was the one being singled out. I was asked to leave the plane for “just a conversation”. By the time I had gotten off the plane I was furious because I was singled out and removed from the plane for no apparent reason and without any warning. At that time I was surrounded by law enforcement who were trying to advise me to just shut up as I had begun running my mouth about being removed from the plane for no apparent reason and without any warning. The statements being peddled in the articles that I was drunk, unruly, feisty with flight attendants, and belligerent are patently false.

Yes that is an email address I created as I spent the entire day combatting this false narrative. I fully intend on pursuing legal action against American Airlines for my unjustified removal from the flight and ensuing fallout of public humiliation and false narratives being spread around the internet. I appreciate you responding to my comment and your willingness to speak with me about what actually happened.

I am the alleged “drunk and unruly passenger” referred to in your article. First off, to my knowledge not even American Airlines alleged that I was drunk. I was drinking a soda through a straw when I was approached by a flight attendant who aggressively said to me “you have to pull your mask up in between sips and in between bites” I acknowledged him and as he walked away I had a laugh about it with other surrounding passengers. At that time I was surrounded by law enforcement who were trying to advise me to just shut up as I had begun running my mouth about being removed from the plane for no apparent reason and without any warning. The statements being peddled in articles and social media posts that I was drunk, unruly, feisty with flight attendants, and belligerent are patently false. The following statement “Stop telling me to wear a mask or I’ll slap the s–t out of you!” was absolutely not something that I ever said. Nor did I say anything remotely like that.

This false narrative has spread like wildfire throughout my community. It has caused public humiliation and has been very upsetting to me and my family.

The video does not show me to be drunk and unruly.

I am hopeful that you will correct the false nature of your article in good faith so that I do not have to engage my attorney who is already on notice about the matter.

Looking forward to your prompt reply.
