"Explosive" Honey Shuts Down California Airport

A golden substance found in the checked baggage of a man traveling from Bakersfield, CA to Milwaukee, WI that tested positive for TNT and TATP (plane go boom) led to the evacuation and closure of BFL for several hours.

Turns out the substance was just honey–the man just liked California honey and wanted to take five bottles back to Wisconsin with him. It must have been some strong honey, though. According to the news report, two TSA agents became nauseated and were taken to the local hospital after opening the bottles.

The man was not charged and the airport has now re-opened. If I were him, I would think twice about eating that honey…
