It isn’t even clear what prompted the breakdown in the first place, but video captured by another passenger shows 24-year-old Simone Bryna Kim standing in the aisle of a Frontier Airlines A320 seemingly screaming at a man seated a couple rows back.
A Good Samaritan tries to calm the woman down, but it is no use: the police were dispatched to remove her from the flight. That’s where things took a bad turn. Rather than just comply, she refused to disembark.
In order to avoid a David Dao situation being captured on video, these days when there is a disruptive passenger the plane is emptied before the troublesome passenger is removed. The plane was emptied, but Kim still refused to get off.
When forcibly removed by police officers, she began kicking first, then dug her fingernails into an officer, then tried to bit three officers. As the video below demonstrates, at one point six police officers dragged her down the stairs from the jet bridge and across the tarmac to a waiting car.

She was taken to the police station at Miami Airport before being taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She posted bail and has since been released.
Kim now faces a laundry list of charges including:
- two felony charges of battery on a police officer
- one felony charge of resisting an officer with violence
- three misdemeanor counts of assault on a police officer
- one misdemeanor trespassing charge
Eventually, Frontier Airlines Flight 2426 took off for Philadelphia (PHL), minus one passenger.
CONCLUSION
We don’t even know what caused the incident onboard, but Kim now faces a hefty jail sentence and fine for resisting arrest and attacking police officers. Just another Frontier Airlines flight from Miami…

And Frontier. In these articles it’s generally going to be Frontier or Spirit a very large majority of the time. I get that air travel is super accessible these days, which is good, but the LCC construct – even though it’s a business operating model and not necessarily a passenger-attraction model – sure does seem to attract a certain subset of the population.
The only thing being made more obvious is the fact that there is a population of adults in this country who never developed the skills to think for themselves. They are easily swayed into believing all kinds of nonsense without taking the time to differentiate fact from opinion.

In things like this I always wonder what the person thinks as they look back on how they day went vs how it was supposed to go, and how if they just kept their cool it all would have worked out.
I was boarding a flight to Philly, on time, nice weather… just getting seated… in a few hours I’ll be there doing what I had planned… But wait, did one of these people that I never have to see again say something to me? Keep my cool and keep on going, or throw it all away and pick up three felony charges in the next 45 minutes? convicted felon here I come!
