Review: Gulf Air Business Class Lounge Bahrain (BAH)

I arrived in Bahrain at 8:55 A.M. and my connecting flight did not depart until 5:55 P.M., leaving me all day in BAH.

I’ve been into Bahrain before and opted to head straight for the Gulf Air Falcon Gold Lounge and (ideally) spend the day working. You’ll find it on the second level

The 24/7 lounge is open to Gulf Air business class passengers, spacious, and never filled up.

a room with blue chairs and a poster

a couch with pillows in a room

a metal tray with teapots on it

Unfortunately, the most important thing I needed for a day of productive work, fast internet, was not available. Look at how poor internet speeds were:

That severely limited my productivity.

Showers and restrooms were available:

a bathroom with sinks and mirrors

a toilet in a bathroom

A smoking room as well:

If you are hungry, the lounge has a large buffet with a good selection of food. I did each lunch in the lounge and thought the mezze items were tasty while the hot food was so-so at best.

a plate of food and a bottle of water

If you arrive in the morning, the buffet includes many hot breakfast items:

Lavazza coffee is available, as the signs make abundantly clear:

a coffee machine and a monitor

a coffee machine with a screen and a tray of dishes

a cup of coffee on a saucer

Alcohol is self-serve:

a group of bottles of alcohol

For the kids, there is a large game room that feels like an arcade as well as an area with toys and stuffed animals for use in the lounge. I ended up sitting there (back of lounge) because the internet was slightly faster.

Plugs are sparse in this lounge. If you find one, claim it or else someone else will…even when the lounge is not crowded. Work stations, including desktop computers, are located near the front of the lounge.

If you want to leave the lounge to do some duty free shopping, you can leave your bags in the baggage storage room:

a sign on a wall

a shelf with a carpeted surface

Finally, if you want to rest, quiet rooms are available for purchase (15BD, so about $40).

CONCLUSION

The slow internet just killed my productivity, but I think this lounge is perfectly fine otherwise. It’s not a lounge you want to arrive early for, but I still enjoyed my very long stay. Great tarmac views as well:

Yes I agree with you to some of points mentioned there but about the food let me tell you it’s limited in terms of variety and it is there since long. I am a frequent flyer of Gulfair since 2009 till to date and many times asked for the change in food but couldn’t get more. Other facilities are fine and getting better time to time.
