In my review of the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf yesterday, I mentioned I received a suite upgrade on my final evening. A Regency Suite King will be the focus of this review.

I had to ask for this upgrade. There was no suite availability my first night, but I noticed a suite was available for the second night on Hyatt.com. I called downstairs, asked if I could move, and my request was happily obliged. The hotel won’t proactively offer Globalist guests an upgrade in the middle of the stay, but if you are interested, keep an eye out on availability. It never hurts to ask.
The 12th floor suite included a guest bathroom, living room with large desk, bedroom, and large bathroom. This was a corner room so the suite was L-shaped, with the great views from both the living room and bedroom, though not nearly as nice as my prior room.

I liked the small extra touches like a Bose radio, orchids, and office supplies inside the desk blotter.

The suite had special toiletries by moooi. I loved the way they look, but prefer the scent of the Pharmacopia amenities found in standard rooms.
CONCLUSION
Having a suite is always nice, but I was alone and would not have used one of my Globalist Suite upgrades to secure this. That’s a compliment to the standard room, not an insult to the suite.
Was the pencil like the eraser also Faber-Castell? It looks similar to a Faber-Castell pencil I got when I stayed at the Kempinski in Munich.
