Live and Let’s Fly Weekend Digest: November 05, 2017

Hello from Southern California…where I’m recovering from a relapse of sickness. Thankfully not the stomach flu I had last week, but another particularly strong head cold. I really need to lay off the travel…

This week marks the final United 747 flight and I will be taking part in festivities in San Francisco and Honolulu. If it is any indication as to how tried I am, I even considered skipping the trip. But I cannot do that. I’ve even scheduled some meetings in Honolulu to make the trip even more worthwhile.

Not much in terms of reviews last week not the blog, but those will pick up this week with a review of my United Airlines journey on the new LAX-SIN route. I spent night at the Marina Bay Sands, but didn’t move very far from my bed so I don’t have much of a review to present of that property.

The big news of the week was Singapore’s debut of its beautiful new A380 cabin refresh. First Class looks amazing! I’ll have more on the new aircraft tomorrow.

Here’s a review of the week’s top stories–enjoy your Sunday evening.

Despite anecdotal evidence, you’re much more likely to get a free upgrade by asking rather than dressing nice.
