First Impressions: JetBlue’s Stunning New Mint Product

Matthew Klint Posted onNovember 21, 2020November 14, 2023 16 Comments

This week, JetBlue unveiled a new soft product for its premium Mint class, including new menus,  Yesterday, I flew JetBlue Mint from Los Angeles to West Palm Beach to check it out…and was once again reminded that JetBlue is simply the best of the best when it comes to a domestic premium product.

New JetBlue Mint Product is A – M – A – Z – I – N – G

When I first learned of the Mint refresh, my heart sank. Would JetBlue ruin what was already near-perfect in terms of in-flight soft product? Thankfully, the answer is no. If anything, the new product is better than before.

The new headphones from Master & Dynamic:

I’m told, though, these are interim while waiting for another model from the same company.

New amenity kits:

(ok, the amenity kits are a downgrade)

New bedding:

a pillow and blanket on a chair

But most of all, new menus, food, drink, glasses, cups.

JetBlue suspended coffee service for awhile due to COVID-19 concerns, but has brought it back. Oh how nice it was to start a flight out with a strong cappuccino in a ceramic cup with a hot, flaky pastry.

Breakfast was a feast, with lovely avocado toast, a leek & ricotta quiche, and lemon soufflé pancakes. The cabin was not full and I also enjoyed macerated strawberries and coconut yogurt during the flight. The new cocktails were lovely too, though I think the espresso before landing hit the spot most of all.

a bowl of strawberries and a napkin on a tray

a bowl of cereal and a napkin on a tray

a glass with ice and cucumber on a napkin

a cup of coffee on a plate

And then of course there is still an amazing suite with closing door, plenty of storage, and three places to charge your devices. Service was also superb.

JetBlue for the win…

CONCLUSION

Next week I’ll publish a full review…I happened to be on the inaugural flight from Los Angeles to West Palm Beach (I had no idea when booking), the first Mint service to PBI. It has been awhile since I’ve been on JetBlue Mint and I was reminded again why JetBlue is simply the best.

While I think that you’re completely wrong in flying for leisure right now, it’s awfully tough to argue that you let the grass grow under your feet.

I flew the new Mint from LAX to JFK this week on the dinner flight, and I was also impressed. I had chicken, a pasta dish and an outstanding farro salad accompanied by wine and champagne ended with coffee with Baileys. Seatmates had the new hand shaken cocktails. I also loved the headsets. I did actually like the amenity kit, as it contained some unusual items I would like to try.

Isn’t that worse? If you let the grass grow under your feet, you aren’t spreading covid.

I don’t spread COVID. I’ll let you know if I start.

I’ll bite: how will you know that you’re not either pre or asymptomatic? Come on Matthew, you’re better than this.

    It looks nice but A – M – A – Z – I – N – G is a bit too much.

Wow it looks they are still offering good service comparing with most international airlines that decreased services
I am looking to travel with Jetblue soon

Thank you for the review albeit a short version as you mentioned.
I’ve had the opportunity of enjoying Mints original product and this one looks even better. More bang for a reasonable price!
I enjoy your reviews very much.

Why would they not include a mattress pad? Why do they insist on using a tray for meal service? Why no tablecloth? Why Pepsi products? Sorry, still a pass for me.

Versus what? Who doesn’t use a tray? Who has mattress pads on premium transcontinental flights?

It’s their premium product. Why not go all the way with it? Isn’t this a warm-up exercise for their eventual transatlantic product.

What do they do for Mosaic customers ?Hoping there’s an upgrade for them?

No upgrades (yet) on JetBlue. You can buy up to Mint at the gate.
