The long-delayed Park Hyatt Bangkok is slated to open in June and reservations are now being accepted. I am so excited about staying at this property!
Thai hospitality is a wonderful thing and Bangkok luxury hotels offer both a great experience and great value. I’ve been refreshing the hotel’s website for two years now waiting for bookings to open. As of today, bookings are being accepted on or after June 30, 2017.
The hotel will be located in the heart of Bangkok in the iconic new Central Embassy building.
Rendering of the hotel look amazing:
With exquisite street food, cheap massages, and an indescribably unique combination of sights and sounds, I look forward to returning to Bangkok to check out the new hotel.
Park Hyatt Bangkok: Points or Cash?
Initial rates at the hotel are running 9,000 Thai Baht or about $255/night. That’s fairly steep for Bangkok. The hotel is a Category 5 Property in Gold Passport/World of Hyatt meaning the hotel will cost 20,000 points per night or a cash+points rate of 10,000 points + $125.
I suspect prices will retreat after the initial buzz lays off. I’d guess that we will see rates eventually fall to the $200 range and perhaps even less during the low-season next spring.
Further Delay?
While I hope to visit the hotel soon after it opens, I am not booking tickets yet. This hotel has been repeatedly delayed and though it is a promising sign the hotel is now accepting bookings, I’ll give it a couple more months at least before I start looking at flights.
CONCLUSION
This will be a great addition to the Hyatt portfolio. The question — will it outdo the Grand Hyatt Erawan, which is my current favorite property in Bangkok?
