Prince Harry Flies American Airlines First Class To London…In Sweats?

Prince Harry was seen jetting to London in first class yesterday, again choosing American Airlines over British Airways or Virgin Atlantic. One passenger on the flight claims she saw the Duke of Sussex onboard in sweats.

Prince Harry Returns To London In American Airlines First Class…In Sweats?

The Duke of Sussex raised some eyebrows in April when he flew from Los Angeles to London and back in first class to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Instead of flying a British carrier, he chose to fly American Airlines for his round-trip journey.

It would appear the limited onboard service currently offered on American Airlines compared to British Airways did not push Prince Harry away, as he was again seen on AA134, a Boeing 777-300ER which left Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 6:45pm lat night and touched down in London Heathrow (LHR) this afternoon at 12:38pm, about 30 minutes ahead of schedule.

The UK Daily Mail sent a reporter to LHR to interview other passengers onboard the flight.

One traveler named Natalie thought she saw Prince Harry in sweats sleeping in first class:

“I was sat in business and I woke up after a nap and got up to stretch my legs. I was walking up and down and I could have sworn I saw a guy in first class, in sweats, asleep.

‘It might have been him? But then, it might not have been? When do you see a Prince in sweats? I told my friend I saw someone that looked a lot like him, but she did not believe me at all. If it was him, that’s crazy. That’s the most English thing ever – sharing a flight to London with Prince Harry.”

American Airlines does offers Casper pajamas in first class on longhaul international flights.

Others onboard did not even catch a glimpse. Eric also sat in business class and never saw the Prince:

“I adore him so I’m sure I would have recognised him if he was on the flight. I’m on a trip to see family – but if I can get in a peek of Prince Harry then that wouldn’t be half bad. He could have been on my flight. I would have loved to have said ‘hello’. I think he’s fantastic.”

The Newell family, which also flew business class, did not see Harry:

“I didn’t see Harry. But then I wasn’t expecting to see him either. It was a very quiet flight. I didn’t take any notice of the people around me.”

On e passenger even looked for him but could not find him:

“I walked up and down several times and I didn’t see him. It’s LA – that’s just normal. But that’s crazy if he was there. Very cool.”

Conclusion: American Airlines did a fairly good job of keeping him incognito onboard, perhaps another reason why he chose to fly AA again.

Upon landing in Heathrow, the Duke of Sussex was escorted downstairs to a waiting car where he driven to quarantine at Frogmore Cottage, ahead of the unveiling of a statute of his mother, Princess Diana, to commemorate what would have been her 60th birthday.

Should a member of the British Royal family fly on a British airline when available? As I stated in April, despite the controversy I view the question as much ado about nothing.

So why American Airlines instead of British Airways or Virgin Atlantic? Perhaps schedule. Perhaps price. Maybe he booked a BA codeshare and was surprised when he was re-directed to American Airlines for check-in. Or maybe he just did not want to be fawned over onboard. Whatever the reason, the Twitter storm condemning the Prince for not flying a British airline is quite amusing (and pathetic).

CONCLUSION

While the strange fascination with the British Royal family and Harry and Meghan in particular has always puzzled me, people love these types of stories…hence I write them. But if it was Prince Harry wearing sweats in first class, I say, “So what?” A man has to sleep…

Does the thought of Prince Harry first class sweats bother you in the least? If so, why?

I suppose not as ghastly as if he had flown Virgin Atlantic and its brothel in the sky

He better follow his quarantine rules to a T. And I would expect nothing less from a young man who occasionally dresses up in a Nazi uniform and accuses his own family of racism on American television.

I think that was one time decades ago, not occasionally. And unlike others, he seems to realize how wrong it was and had changed since and become a better person with regards to issues like that.

Given that Harry is a UK Citizen and the US still has a UK travel ban in place, he should not be able to return. I’m sure he will be given a free pass, but “grifter” is not an exception category on any list that I can find.

No it’s not! We don’t want Mr. Markle in the US. In fact we don’t want his spiteful
        Simple wife either.

Well if Americans with family can go to the UK, shouldn’t that be reciprocated as well? Also his wife was born a US citizen, so its not up to you to decide whether she can stay in the US or not.

Brits with immediate family in the US can travel there under an exemption & US citizens are welcome in the UK and always have been as long as they quarantine

Why did they divert to Gander, slap handcuff on him and say that Harry was interfering with the FA crew? After all, the Duke of Sussex (Harry) mumbles so he’s hard to understand. Proof: See https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-40013513

In Germany, there’s an English test, part of it being to listen to a recording and then answering questions about it. Prince Harry was the recorded voice. His accent was so thick that many native English speakers have a hard time understanding him. Some German students were so upset that they couldn’t understand him in the exam that…”Some students were extremely upset, there was weeping and great disappointment”.

Harry gave up that title. His accent isn’t particularly thick. It’s queen’s English. Interestingly, I was forced to read Pygmalion while learning English at Gymnasium in Germany. Many are quite aware of the various English accents and the post 1968 generations know English pretty well. Dubbing American shows/movies hasn’t helped.

Lol. They should try listening to Scousers, Geordies or virtually anyone from Scotland. PC diversity plans have led the BBC to employ presenters from the regions ( many of them incomprehensible), rather than the traditional RP voices that were so great for learners

Diversity in respect of regional accents in on-air roles, rather than the tradition of the standard RP, ie ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with race.

So the Wallis-like wife isn’t going? Probably not: she’ll be staying back in the mega mansion with the servants, preaching about equity, inclusiveness and sustainability. In that regard it’s surprising Elton John didn’t send the private jet for Harry: perhaps they have indeed learned something from the outcry over the hypocrisy the last time they used it.

She has to stay home and count the money from the deals she is making by trading on her title. From C level actress to royalty. Note she did not publish her widely panned book under her name, but rather under her title.

Harry purchased a ticket and flew to London in comfortable clothing. Pre covid I did this on a regular basis…can’t begin to see the issue or even the need to report.

Also not sure why him being of means and being able to afford a home and household help is bothersome. Especially to a group of readers who constantly get pissed to the highest level of pissitivity if the airlines “don’t respect their status”.

Leave Harry and Meagan and their children alone! If he was wearing sweats so what. He and his family cannot have privacy just like what his mom had to go through on a daily basis before her tragic demise. Hopefully he had a great flight on AA and I’m wishing he and his family the best with much love.
People get a life and watch your own families and leave them alone!

He didn’t punch a flight attendant. He didn’t object to wearing a mask. He refrained from groping. He probably just had one glass of wine with dinner. He didn’t argue with anyone. He just slept in cheap AA pajamas. Sounds like Prince these days.

I think it’s beyond rediculous that people think it’s any of their damn business what celebrities wear on planes or anywhere else. He deserves to be comfortable just as much as any of us…. I see plenty of sweats, flip flops, and causal wear in first class.

More stories like this please. To those that think he should be left alone like everyone else, you are wrong. He is a royal in all but title and will never be like everyone else. The life of a cultural figurehead has trade offs. He gets media coverage for nearly any topic that is of interest to him. In exchange, the media get him as a topic whenever they wish. Seems like a fair trade and one he seems content to perpetuate. And he should have flown BA. Without the British people he would have no shoulders to stand on. Show a little respect.
