I Need To Fly With Steve Kirsch…

Matthew Klint Posted onMarch 11, 2023 71 Comments

Dear Steve Kirsch, I will gladly take my mask off and even ingest hydroxychloroquine if you offer me $100,000. When can we fly together?

Abuse? Steve Kirsch Offers Seatmate On Delta Air Lines $100,000 To Remove Mask

One Mile At A Time detailed the recent account of tech millionaire Steve Kirsch (the founder of the optical mouse and various other things) flying on Delta Air Lines in first class. According to Kirsch, he offered his seatmate first $100 but eventually worked his way up to $100,000 if she would take her mask off during the flight. He also explained his belief why masks do not work.

I am on board a Delta flight right now. The person sitting next to me in first class refused $100,000 to remove her mask for the entire flight. No joke. This was after I explained they don’t work. She works for a pharma company. pic.twitter.com/Q8Hwzhkmxf

— Steve Kirsch (@stkirsch) March 10, 2023

She refused (but did take her mask off to eat breakfast), for which she was admonished by Kirsch.

She took off her mask as soon as the breakfast was served!!!! Because everyone knows you can’t get infected while you are eating!!

— Steve Kirsch (@stkirsch) March 10, 2023

He pulled a similar stunt on a Southwest Airlines flights a few days earlier.

I asked the people sitting next to me on the plane if I paid them $10,000 would they remove their mask for the duration of the flight? Both declined the offer.

Maybe I should offer $100,000 next time? This can quantify the amount of brainwashing. pic.twitter.com/VLlymusmcq

— Steve Kirsch (@stkirsch) March 7, 2023

I don’t get it. Is the man simply fishing for publicity? What drives someone to harass their seatmate over the voluntary choice to wear a mask? It’s not harassment to make the offer. It is harassment to keep talking about it when your seatmate refuses your offer.

But let me say this. I’ll fly around the world just for the chance to fly next to Kirsch. I don’t wear masks, but I will certainly wear an N95 (heck, I’ll double or triple mask for the fun of it) just to see if Kirsch offers me the money. And then I’ll accept his offer.

I’m not actually optimistic he would pay up. Venmo? Checkbook? Should I bring my Square Terminal? I doubt the dude has the cash on him.

But in any case, I’d love to fly with Steve Kirsch and will be on the lookout for him. Sad that he flies Delta and Southwest, but if he spends a lot of time in the Silicon Valley maybe I can find him on a Bay Area flight?

CONCLUSION

Millionaire Steve Kirsch allegedly offered his setmatc $100,000 in Delta first class to remove her. ask. She refused. It’s too bad he proceeded to harass her…but really too bad I wasn’t his seatmate!

And his offer more like Lucy v. Zehmer or Leonard v. Pepsico? It would be fun to find out…

A lot of people have requested to sit next to me on my next flight. For some reason, I’m super popular now.

I think he would. He’s not going to torpedo his reputation even further by then not paying if someone accepted his offer. He has the money. Why do you think he wouldn’t pay?

His is the standard con. After she accepts he says “so now we know what you are, we just need to negotiate the price, and you need to agree to all these conditions.” He offered me $1M to debate him, but when push comes to shove, it is not a sincere offer.

Ah, so this is harassment, but my payment for a specific seat on a plane and being asked to move because some Karen was too much of a baby to sit next to me for an hour long flight isn’t? This is great.

          • Matthew Klint
            March 11, 2023 at 11:00 pm

It’s not harassment to ask or even to post a passive aggressive TikTok diatribe after. It would be harassment to ask more than once onboard…to remove a mask or to move seats.

          • Brandon

So then you agree that a mask Karen screaming at me to move is harassment?

I have no idea if he is a grifter or not, but it almost doesn’t matter.

Certain things should not be political, once politics enters the room, it becomes adversarial and there is no chance for communication.

There are maskers and anti-maskers, enemies, rather than a discussion about efficacy and working together to study the topic and make a determination which benefits society as a whole.

I know someone will say Cochrane (not sure of the spelling) and maybe it is accurate and maybe it isn’t, I truly have no idea, I have read critiques on both sides of the argument.

Heck it should not be an argument, it should be something we all want to know the answer to.

At the end of the day it became political and we will have guys like in Matthews article offering money to remove a mask.

      • Brandon Reply
        March 13, 2023 at 11:55 am

FWIW, it’s not just Cochrane. There was the Danish study before that. There was a Japanese RCT in 2011. Another RCT from 2015. The pre-pandemic guidance to say that masks were not part of containment. ETC. There was really no “maskers” vs. “not”. It was entirely scared karens against the science. There has yes to be a single study to show efficiencies for mask usage in reducing viral spread on the populational level. The best they can claim, are mock studies using mannequins. Also, all one has to do is go back to 2020 when the mandates were issued, and the world went mad, to see there was zero new studies that changed our understanding on masking. It was to make the “do something” karens feel like they were accomplishing something.

Passenger next to me this morning boarded wearing a N95 mask. Stayed with that until breakfast was served in first class. Enjoyed the meal and drinks for a good 45 minutes without the mask. Then put the mask back on. Yes, Covid was on time out during the time he was eating.

It’s pretty simple.. covid is likely to be in the air in much higher concentration during boarding and early in the flight than mid flight when the engines have been running for a while, so the chance of catching it is lower at that point. But that would take a small amount of critical thinking to realize that.

And for the record I don’t mask, but I don’t judge people that do

I was harassed by a pax on an AA flight June 2020 from work because I couldn’t wear a mask prior to AA and united forgetting what the acaa was. That’s when our wonderful “legal eagle” here tried to say it was perfectly fine for the airlines to discriminate based on medical conditions if people were scared. (paraphrasing, of course.)

@AJ I was referring to Matt on his claim that the airlines didn’t have to expressly prove you were a direct threat to the flight. That’s what A) when the national mandates were implemented for airlines they were forced to make exemptions again. It’s also why delta was the only one that provided a path to fly for those like me.

Prior to the pandemic, we knew they were not efficacious.

Multiple, shoddy “studies” didn’t give them a great reputation, and some studies ripped them up.

A MA couldn’t show that they were efficacious en masse.

For the MAGA crowd: all this proves is that we didn’t mask hard enough. Mask hard. Mask tight. Mask in multiples. Be safe.

If I said that I wasn’t being sincere, of course it wasn’t going to last forever. Ive gotten sick a few times while traveling since the mandate went away, so it was nice not getting colds, but oh well thats life. It was a novel virus which is what made it dangerous, but now it’s no longer novel for almost anyone so no need to mask for most people. If any part of me wanted it to last forever it was to watch the antimask snowflakes melt

So sorry you had to deal with this, Brandon. I’m not really sure why all of the ultra-Karen bloggers are so anti-freedom. I mean Ben’s comment policy alone for COVID “misinformation” just proves he can’t handle dissent. The “misinformation he speaks of was 100% correct”. Him and Gary are still going on and on about masks and Tucker and Steve K. And then Matthew joins in. If you notice, the three of them always post the same stuff on repeat. Talk about collusion. They probably have a weekly conference call to discuss how to serve their overloads versus the public. It’s laughable and I’m glad there are those of us who are on to them. I can only determine that their overloads are big government and big business corporations (credit cards and airlines) so that is why they take anti-human positions—because they have no other choice. They can’t bite the hand that feeds them. But it’s okay—because history defining them as anti-human will be more than enough karma, imo. I can see historians now looking back on this time where the aviation bloggers supported their overloads, instead of supporting the truth. So when I posted that song “Get Better” above, I hope you don’t think it was towards you. On the contrary, it would be nice to see the boarding area bloggers get better. But they made their bed, and now they can lay in it. Again, history will not cover them kindly. That is their legacy.

While I’ve enjoyed catching up on others over the years, now it is time for me to return to Instagram.
