Tapas Snackbox on United is Delicious

Matthew Klint Posted onDecember 2, 2010November 14, 2023 4 Comments

In November, United introduced three new snack boxes as part of its revamped buy-on-board menu for economy class.

One of them, the Tapas snackbox, caught my eye and I had the chance to sample it earlier this week.

The snackbox contains:

  • Oloves “Tasty Mediterranean” Olives
  • Milas Artichoke and Red Pepper Spread
  • Wild Garden Hummus
  • Rondelé Cheese Parmesan Peppercorn Spread
  • Frateli Laurieri Scrocchi al Rosmarino Crackers (these were very flavorful)
  • Jacobs Cream Crackers
  • Partners 3pk Olive Oil and Sea Salt Crackers
  • Emerald Natural Almonds
  • Fantis Ouzo Candy Mint

Hardly a steal for $8.49, but it is healthier than the other options and is really nice snack.

Had one yesterday on the way to Seattle and I agree! Lots of fun playing with all the stuff. $8.49 is a good price. Unless you are buying a gross of each item at Sam’s Club or such it is going to be hard to beat that price. But these snacks should not be confused in any way with real tapas. Could have used a sharp implement of some sort to open some of those sacks. 🙂 Guess I could have asked that guy clipping his toenails in first if I could borrow his clippers. 😉

I agree with the post and the comment. The food is good but opening that hummus packet required a saw.

Also the thing is really long. It’s difficult to eat if you have your laptop open and want to continue to work while you eat.

oh its been a bit of time since this was first posted but thanks so much for it!! I recently returned to America from a spell in Madrid, and during a connecting flight from new york to la I bought one of these boxes. because of the incredible turbulence, I didn’t dare eat it. It was only once I was home and settled, and awake quite very early the next morning, that I opened that treasure chest of deliciousness. It was perfect accompaniment to Sophia and Marcelo’s Sunflower, a wonderful picture. I really wish to taste those little pleasures again, off to wholefoods tomorrow to try and seek substitutes! thank you!
