As 2024 draws to a close, it is time for my annual “Top 10” series. Here, I’ll look back on my 10 favorite hotel stays from 2024.
My Top 10 Hotel Stays In 2024
As a reminder, this is not a top-1o all-time list, but only covers my hotel stays this year. I stayed at far fewer hotels in 2024 than in 2023. As in years past, I was loyal to Hyatt…I enjoyed another year of superior service, generous upgrades, and great treatment overall as a Globalist. That’s why my list below is 80% Hyatt properties, though my #1 hotel was not a Hyatt.
I’m losing my Hyatt Globalist status after years and years of having it. I think the only difference going forward is that I won’t be eating as much as hotel breakfast…which my body will probably thank me for.
10. Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach
I don’t often blog about it, but the Hyatt Huntington Beach has replaced the Mar Monte in Santa Barabra as our preferred weekend getaway. Escaping the heat of LA and spending a night or two here is always a delight.
9. Park Hyatt Seoul
One of my favorite hotels in terms of room decor/aesthetics with excellent service and a solid breakfast bufet.
8. Hotel Du Lourve
During a family trip to Europe, we flew out of Paris and enjoyed a night at Hotel Du Lourve in a family suite…review is coming.
7. The Peninsula Chicago
Heidi and I were in Chicago earlier this year and rather than go the Park Hyatt, we tried The Peninsula Chicago…and loved it.
6. Grand Hyatt Seoul
I liked the Grand Hyatt Seoul better than the Park Hyatt Seoul, and found the Grand Club a great added benefit and the massive gym and wellness area a great amenity.
5. Hyatt Regency Sofia
I enjoyed my visit to the city of Sofia and quite enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Sofia, with particular appreciation for the wellness area and The Revolutionary restaurant, where I enjoyed a delicous breakfast and dinner.
4. Park Hyatt Marrakech
Park Hyatt’s latest property is a beauty, with comfort, warm hospitality, and excellent amenities.
3. Park Hyatt Saigon
I enjoyed a quick night in Ho Chi Minh City during our SAS Million Mile challenge and both Augustine and I really loved this hotel.
2. Park Hyatt Istanbul
This hotel has matured so well and offers beautiful rooms, excellent food, and is located in a very quiet neighborhood of Istanbul.
1. The Brando
We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at The Brando and it was stunning…I cannot wait to return to this hotel. This is not a miles and points property, but it is the sort of resort that will forever change how you evaluate luxury.
Which hotel stay was best for you in 2024?
What would be your “all time” top hotel?
It was The Brando…no doubt.
Runner-up: Six Senses Thimphu from last year.
The Brando, where we got to see Matt’s hot body.
