Yum: United Airlines Adds Crockett Cookies In Airport Lounges

If you’re traveling through Denver or Chicago O’Hare on United Airlines this week, the United Clubs will features a special holiday treat: Crockett Butter Cookies.

Crockett Cookies In United Clubs This Week

Chicago entrepreneur Cheryl Crockett started her own cookie company in 2013.

United describes the cookies as “lunchroom cookies.” For my readers in Chicago, does that ring a bell? My memories of the school cafeteria are less fond…

Cheryl’s iconic style butter cookies are an ode to the lunchroom cookies that were once prominent throughout Chicago Public Schools. Today, Crockett Cookies operates in a 4,000-square-foot facility in the West Fulton Market area of the city. More than 5,000 cookies are baked daily to fulfill orders for Chicagoland area Walgreens and Whole Foods stores.

Crockett was born with an entrepreneurial spirit:

“Even while growing up in Englewood, one of the toughest neighborhoods in Chicago, and in a household with both parents and six siblings, my motivation to start my own business was an innate feeling that this is what I was meant to do,”

But does she make good cookies?

I’ve never tried then and will not be going through either airport this week. They certainly look tasty…and butter cookies are my family specialty.

Even without trying them, part of me hopes this is a dry run for butter cookies onboard. I love stroopwaffels and especially Biscoffs, but it would be great to see these onboard as well, even if just for purchase.

The cookies will be available through December 28th only in the DEN and ORD United Cubs.

CONCLUSION

I’m a big sucker for cookies, especially during Christmas time. These Crocket cookies look mighty tasty. Hopefully we’ll see them on a United flight or lounge in the new year.

Have you tried these cookies? How are they?
