A pair of Trump supporters filmed themselves flouting the onboard mask policy on United Airlines earlier this week. One has already been banned from American Airlines for the same offense. Now it is time to ban these selfish halfwits from United Airlines.
Dear United, Please Ban These Selfish Fools Who Show Such Disdain For Others By Refusing To Abide By Your Rules
You might remember David Harris, Jr. the man who lied to flight attendants on American Airlines claiming he had a medical condition so he could not wear a mask (even though he posted a picture on his own social media wearing one days earlier). He was banned and I tore into him as Exhibit A of the type of hypocrisy that undermines conservatives of conscience.
It’s one thing to question the efficacy of masks (on very shaky scientific grounds). It’s quite another to disrespect the right of a business to require them whilst onboard. Absent a federal mandate, United Airlines has the prerogative to set its own mask policy, taking into account its own motives for the wellbeing of others and the pursuit of an environment that encourages the greatest number of passengers to fly.
I’ve discussed this at great length here and won’t do so again…
Now Harris is back, this time on United Airlines. He was flying with Jillian Anderson, another “conservative” Trump supporter and the two decided to disregard United’s onboard mask policy on a recent United Express CRJ-700 flight.

Oh yeah!!! This young lady knows what time it is!
Love this @Jillie_Alexis!

Look at the gratuitous advertising and self-promotion in these tweets, even for My Pillow…
And this was clearly during boarding, so it’s not like they were eating or drinking.
Why Write About Jerks?
I realize an unseemly byproduct of writing about these two is that tens of thousands of more people might be exposed to their toxicity who otherwise would not be.
At the same time, selfish actors like this pose a risk to others, are a blight on our society, and deserve to be held accountable. So I’m calling them out by name and calling upon them to repent of their selfishness and greed.
A United spokesperson told me, “We’re looking into this incident.”
I’m not one who believes shelter-in-place is the only answer to the coronavirus. The problem is not commerce or gathering, but in how we do it. Social distancing, masks, and proper hygiene are key. Since summer, I have not been shy about traveling. But I’ve done so carefully. Wearing a mask on an airplane demonstrates love of neighbor and respect for authority. Those who refuse should be held accountable.
