United Airlines’ Role In Upcoming Presidential Debates

United Airlines will serve as the official airline of the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) for the 2020 election.

United Airlines’ Role in Upcoming Presidential Debates

This year, the CPD will hold four presidential debates, the first of which occurs next Tuesday, September 29, 2020, in Cleveland, Ohio.

A single crew handles the staging, logistics, and other arrangements for all four events and United will serve as the official airline of the CPD. United will transport 65 staff and crewmembers to each debate.

Cleveland Clinic is serving as Health Security Advisor to the CPD and also has partnered with United to offer health and safety protocols onboard meant to minimize the spread of virus and promote cleanliness.

Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the CPD, said:

“The CPD is deeply grateful to United Airlines for generously supporting the health and safety of the crew that will produce the debates. The United States’ presidential debates are each watched by a global audience of more than 100 million.”

To coincide with the new debate gig, United is providing resources to employees to ensure all who wish to are signed up to vote and can exercise that right on November 3rd.

CONCLUSION

I’m not sure if TV ads are part of the sponsorship deal, but wouldn’t it be funny if United Airlines launched a series of ads about its international route network during commercial breaks? In an election year in which the future and viability of the airline industry is such a central issue, it is no surprise that United has chosen to place its stamp on the upcoming debates.

I’m so looking forward to seeing Smokin’, Joltin’ Joe wipe the floor with the bloated horror, perhaps reflecting the fact this lockdown is becoming extremely tedious (…albeit necessary)

Only if Old Joe remembers his dementia meds. But then, I would not be surprised if Kamala rushed from the behind the curtains, pushed Old Joe aside, and announced she was taking control. Why not? And if Old Joe and Kamala win the election, does she understand that the Oval Office is not where the VP works?

Let me guess – you support the fat “can barely walk down a ramp” uber-troll who slurs his words nonstop and has the vocabulary of an 8th grader? Okey dokey then.

Please don’t insult eight graders like that. It’s the vocabulary of an eight year old.

No, I don’t support your candidate as you described him. But please, take your meds tonight. And go outside occasionally for the fresh air, kick a statue, whatever.

Yep, Smokin Joe will wipe the floor with Trump – that is if he can remember his own name that day.
