Football Star Arrested For Drunk And Disorderly Conduct At Washington Dulles Airport

English Football (Soccer) Star Wayne Rooney was arrested for “public intoxication and swearing” at Washington Dulles International Airport. His incident serves as an important reminder that alcohol and sleeping pills do not mix well.

Rooney was in Saudi Arabia and took a private jet back to Washington, DC. The English soccer star plays for DC United and lives in Northern Virginia. During the flight, he consumed a few alcoholic beverages and also consumed sleeping pills.

Upon landing in Washington even private jet passengers must go through customs/border formalities. It was there that he was detained for public intoxication and swearing. After booking him and taking his mugshot, police let him go. Rather than appear in court, he paid he fine…of $25.

As the Daily Mail points out, Rooney is paid $2.78MN/year by DC United, meaning the fine will take him a whopping 4 minutes and 43 seconds to pay. Rooney was also hit with an administrative fee of $91.

CONCLUSION

He wasn’t trying to drive, he wasn’t harming anyone…he just had a few too many plus sleeping pills. That’s why he was immediately let go and incurred only a $25/fine. But if we learn anything from this high-profile case, it is that all travelers should be careful about mixing sleeping pills and alcohol.

Two edits: “Football Star Arrested For Dunk And Disorderly Conduct” – I think you mean drunk not dunk. Also, “he paid he fine…of $25.” – I think you mean he paid the fine of $25. Anyways, it was a big thing for DC United when Rooney came (as he is basically their first good player they ever had) – this behavior from him is ridiculous and truly embarrassing for a star like him.

You need to check what he has done in the past. If anything this is likely the smallest crime he had.

Huh? English football? The whole world call it football. Thus, world cup. Only some strange culture call it soccer. Oh well… Some colony need to try to have their own language it seems…..

I believe he means that Rooney is a ‘football, which Americans commonly call soccer, star, whose nationality is English’, not that the sport is called ‘English Football”, Matthew, can you clarify this ?

He has a history of drinking and doing the same mess over and over again. He is definitely not a role model player for kids.

These types think they can get away with anything: and pretty much they can and do. The exception was the case of the lads from Leicester on the promotional tour of Thailand ; they made a sex tape of themselves cavorting with prostitutes, courtesy of the staff of the late duty-free ‘king’. It ended up all over the net and they were well and truly crucified.
