“Why Would I Need Pants On?” (Woman Strides Through Miami Airport)

Matthew Klint Posted onFebruary 4, 2023February 4, 2023 42 Comments

If you’re flying to a warm-weather destination, is it okay to get in the mood by wearing a bathing suit on the flight? One woman certainly thought it was just fine to stride through Miami International Airport without pants on.

Woman Walks Through Miami Airport Without Pants On

A woman was captured on film going through security at Miami wearing a neon yellow top that said Costa Rica on it…and no pants. Live and let’s live?

She seemed to be struggling to pull her three carry-on items as she waited in the airport security line. Airlines do not allow three carry-on items (some don’t even allow a single larger item any longer) so she may have had a greater battle at the gate ahead of her than her choice to leave her pants at home.

CONCLUSION

As Gary Leff put it, “People don’t dress up to fly the way they used to. And at airports in South Florida sometimes they barely dress up at all.” These days, I tend to shrug at stories like this. Even so, it is indeed a reminder that not only have we given up dressing up to fly, but we’ve given up the idea of even covering up in public places.

I always scratch my head when I see people showing up on shorts and t-shirt at my local airport when it is -20F outside. Yes, you may say the airport and airplane is heated but I still don’t get it as somehow they have to be exposed to a brutal cold to get to the airport.

I read about a coat check at an airport, I can’t remember where it was. Seemed like a great idea. Check your coats for a week when flying from somewhere cold to somewhere hot rather than carrying with you there and back. It’s a shame it’s not offered at any airports I use.

Coat? Yes, I live in a very cold place and when traveling to a warm location I usually don’t carry heavy coats but a fleece or something similar. However, wear shorts, t-shirts and flip flops when it is -20F is a bit too much.

Several years ago a plane returning from some warm place to YHZ skidded off the runway on landing and had the be evacuated. Those who stood in the cold wearing shorts and flip-flops for 45 minutes waiting for a bus to arrive learned a tough lesson!

    Not acceptable.
I know flying is a dark, fractured shadow of what it once was, even in the posh seats…….but it’s not acceptable to board an aircraft semi naked.
Quite apart from anything else, there’s a hygiene consideration……there are enough rogue bugs and filth on all planes without some deluded, self important strumpet sticking her dodgy backside somewhere other pax will have to place themselves (we all know the days of cleaning cabins regularly and efficiently are long gone, like most of the standards and expectations of the Golden Age of aviation).
Methinks this pax is so full of herself, doesn’t give a damn about anyone else in the airport or on board, and is publicity seeking………

Floridiot is what she is! Half naked getting on a plane. I hope she was going somewhere cold and there wasn’t a gate. She had to walk in frigid temps to get from her plane to inside the airport.
I was traveling from Germany once -temps when I flew out to Savannah, GA final destination. It was 60 there. I purposely left my coat with my friend who dropped me off in Germany who was also the same person picking me up. We had to layover in Chicago on the way back and there wasn’t a gate for us. Let me just say I froze. I had on jeans and a long sleeve but still. Stuff happens, flights get changed around all the time. Next time she might be more cautious with her attire before flying. Let’s all hope!

I mean, wearing no pants is gross and this lady seems to have more issues than just no pants… But, I never understood the idea of dressing up to fly. Why? It makes no sense. The primary activity I engage in on planes is sleep. Who sleeps in a jacket and tie? Nobody. I definitely want people wearing pants. But sweatpants are fine by me (I, personally, wear jeans).

Oh Jim….that’s a bit far fetched eh….? She could have been reprimanded to put some pants or at least shorts on so not to offend anyone but that should be a rule noted for everyone prior to entering the airport….just as the “what you can bring and not bring on board” items are. Jail? Really?

How I learned to like TSA is that I was waiting in line to get scanned when a woman in front of me in one of those tight sweater-skirts and a thong had to bend way down to loosen her sandals to get them x-Rayed. I got a good show standing behind her. Don’t mind TSA so much since ( though the shoe scanning is nonsense).

What if I told you (the pejorative FL comment sorts) that international airports are typically a connection point between those foreign destinations and more… domestic inland arrival points? South Florida residents have their individual and collective faults, but little motivation to overreact to the prospect of warm weather.

This thread is pretty funny… I mean, sure she could be one whom realizes the very thing most refuse to do- which is the ignored part here… She is appropriately dressed most would agree for a day at the beach, where, had this photo tailed her along a boardwalk- we’d have no story here, no complaints etc. Why? It’s ok at a beach, or within several miles of one along most Floridian coastal areas… Which, clearly line the entire state! That said, the fact that the whole state seems marketed and affiliated with all things that include and endorse this dress, I’d suspect maybe she was thoroughly enjoying her time there, and who knows, maybe got so accustomed to her vacation culture that she also became very comfortable in her attire and maybe even was running late. So that may be the very last thing on her mind because the true bottom line here is, none of this is illegal, it is simply a discretionary situation, one from one to the next to each their own, etc. And quite frankly, we all see naked bodies on a daily basis because of our own, we know the exist in others as well and it’s kind of silly to me how much of a focus America puts on things of this very nature. Nature. To me, this was just a really easy way for someone to get a story and the obviously were not wrong in doing so. Anyway, that’s my thoughts, they don’t really mean much in the scheme of things, but it was a pretty entertaining bit to read all these comments for sure. I always enjoy seeing the variances of opinions and thoughts, especially the seemingly hardcore claims of things and some of the most enjoyable far-fetched ones as well! It’s all entertainment truly, and that it was not disappointing! Who cares what she was wearing! It ain’t ur skinny legs, or crotch hanging out so just look they other way and remember a fun story to share;) or be the one clever onlooker savvy enough to successfully offer a change of view with her approval.
