Air France-KLM Flying Blue Promo Awards: 50% Off Business Class through August

I’ve griped about the inept call center and arcane policies of Flying Blue, the loyalty program of Air France-KLM, but I’ve been booking a lot of clients on Air France and KLM flights this month and want to make sure you are aware of the discounted “Promo Awards” available now through the end of August.

Availability is theoretically limited, but take Washington-Paris for an example–award space is available nearly every day through the end of August and at only 31,250 AMEX points one-way in business, a steal even with taxes and fuel surcharges that total about $650 r/t.

For 62,500 points and $650, I’d say you are getting a much better deal than an $1800 coach ticket…

How do I book these?

Flying Blue is an American Express Membership Rewards transfer partner, so if you have AMEX points you can transfer them to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio and the transfer is instant. If you do not have an American Express card or have not signed up for one in awhile, considering signing up for the American Express Gold Card.

Promo Awards promotions happen each season, though summer is usually best because business travel tends to be depressed, leaving more room in premium cabins. If you don’t have AMEX points now, stock up so you are ready to pounce on deals like this next time.
