Review: Aeromexico Lounge Cancún (CUN)

My connection turned out so quick that I had plenty of time to relax prior to my Aerolineas Argentinas flight to Buenos Aires. The airline uses Aeromexico’s Salon Premier in Terminal 2.

The lounge is small, but access is limited to Aeromexico and SkyTeam premium passengers and elite members. The lounge was not crowded.

But’s let just be honest…it’s not a lounge you want to arrive early for. Power outlets are not available, or at least I could not find one. My mobile phone was almost dead so I was in desperate need of one, but ended up having to poach power from my laptop to charge my phone. You’ll note the Samsung charging station in the pictures above, but that did not help me and my iPhone. The lack of power ports is reason enough not to spend much time in this lounge. Wi-Fi, however (and thankfully), functioned at a decent speed.

Food selection is limited. It included light snacks like peanuts, sandwiches, potato chips, crudités, chips and salsa, and muffins. The alcohol selection was decent and included a special refrigerator containing only Mexican beer. Also available: filter coffee and a machine that dispensed (nasty) espresso-based drinks.

I always love chips and salsa and note the pico de gallo was fresh and delicious. The chips…not so much.

No showers, though bathrooms are available inside the lounge.

CONCLUSION

It’s better than nothing if you want a light snack or drink prior to your flight, but don’t waste any more time than necessary here.

A good tip to rescue the chips that have gone stale by being exposed to air while sitting at the serving bowl is to heat them a minute in the microwave. Squeeze a lime and sprinkle salt just before serving.
