Can we steer clear of name-calling in the comments, please? I am writing this more because I am amused and appreciate the link to airline status.
Breaking News: NBC News Reporter Loses Delta Elite Status
With the strike of the clock at midnight on February 1st, thousands lost their elite status that had carried over one more month from the previous year.
One such person who lost her status was Kasie Hunt, of NBC News. In an interesting tweet she later deleted, she seemed to blame her loss of status on President Trump:
Gold status on Delta may not be worth much, but it sure beats not having status at all. If for nothing else, as Hunt points out, than avoiding aggravating hold queues.
Hunt seems to be a big Delta fan. Her list of top-10 airports includes many Delta hubs and she has expressed effusive praise for Delta before.
But blaming Trump is curious for a reporter based in Washington, DC. Heck, I don’t think it is the President who wanted to keep reporters in town to cover his impeachment trial. Quite the contrary, I’d say he much rather see reporters focus on news items outside of the Beltway.
And if you want me to take a swipe at Trump, I could say that had Hunt accompanied the President to Florida for his many golf trips, she probably could have kept her status…
CONCLUSION
I’m just having some fun in this post, so don’t take it too seriously. I do think the tweet exposes the bubble that so many live in. We all lived through blame-Obama-for-everything era and now it looks like many are returning the favor.
To Kasie: you probably just don’t know the right people at Delta. I have journalist clients at Award Expert whom Delta has comped status too. Maybe talk to some of your colleagues?
To Delta: what are you doing competing with Aeroplan for the worst hold times? Keep Climbing.

Anyway her tweet was tongue in cheek.
In life, if you’re an ugly woman or a short man, you are hosed. Same if you are a fat woman or ugly man.
Over 2 hours on hold, she was frustrated. Let’s cut her a break.
Shocking that she didn’t mention that she was pregnant for most of the year and gave birth in the fall and was on maternity leave for the rest. Maybe that is the reason????

Wow she lost gold status? Cry me a river. I’m sure she got upgraded so many times….almost as many times as she got suite upgrades with her Discoverer status at Hyatt.
