Review: Be Relax Spa LAX (Priority Pass)

Matthew Klint Posted onOctober 30, 2021October 31, 2021 5 Comments

I recently checked out the Be Relax Spa in Terminal 1 at Los Angeles International Airpot (LAX), a new addition to the Priority Pass lounge network. My recommendation: allow yourself plenty of time. But it’s a nice addition, especially if you are flying on Southwest Airlines.

Be Relax Spa LAX Review

I was not flying from Terminal 1 (Southwest), though the TSA does not prohibit passengers traveling from other terminals from accessing Terminal 1. Just allow yourself plenty of time – it took me a good 15 minutes to walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 7, then I had to re-clear security.

With a valid Priority Pass card, you can enjoy one of the following four treatments:

  • 30 minute Lounger Massage – (a US$35 value)
  • 15 minute Lounger Massage plus Aromatherapy & O2 – (a US$35 value)
  • 10 minute Head Massage plus Aromatherapy & O2 – (a US$38 value)
  • 10 minute Foot Massage plus Aromatherapy & O2 – (a US$38 value)

I arrived hoping for a foot massage, but the spa was busy and I was told the wait would be 90 minutes. However, there were two massage chairs unoccupied and I was invited to use one of those instead, which I did.

The staff was quite kind, but at around 3:00pm two workers left, leaving only one poor guy to deal with five people, including four waiting for treatments. He was overwhelmed…

Note that American Express-issued Priority Pass cards are exempted from this benefit: unfortunately, American Express only allows access to Priority Pass lounges, not restaurants or experiences like this spa. Also, no guests are permitted.

The spa is open daily from 6:00am to 11:00pm and advance reservations are not offered. You’ll find it airside in Terminal 1 next to Rock n Brew Restaurant (sadly, a former Priority Pass restaurant).

If you don’t have Priority Pass or want additional treatments, here is the price list:

Tipping is appropriate – 15-25%.

CONCLUSION

Worth your time? Probably not, unless you have a lot of time to burn or are traveling from Terminal 1. However, I will return at some point just so I can try a foot massage and when I do, I will report back.

Hi Matthew, do you miss your Asia trips and lonh hour stays in Oneworld top Airport lounges? I discovered this blog while looking for Al Safwa lounge reviews.

Right now, there some fantastic deals in South East Asia including Thailand with Hyatt properties going for $70 per nights… Surely won’t last long

I’ve noticed those cheap rates at the Hyatt Regency in Bangkok. Indeed, those won’t last! Yes, I greatly miss Asia. Can’t wait to return.
