The Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show is taking place this weekend in Long Beach, CA and is billed as the largest travel show in the nation. The object of the show is to offer travelers a one-stop location to learn about, plan, and book travel to anywhere in the world. To that end, many speakers and seminars will be offered to help travelers best capitalize on their travel experience. Guests include Rick Steves, Pauline Frommer, and…me.
Tomorrow afternoon from 2:45p to 3:30p I will be part of a panel discussion entitled “Loyalty Programs and Traveling on Points”. We will discuss a broad range of topics concerning airline loyalty, frequent flyer miles, and credit card points with much of the discussion driven by questions from the audience. It is my hope to make clear that aspirational dream trips are still possible and that pursuing elite status and collecting miles is still worth the effort, but also help guide audience members on thinking about points and loyalty a bit differently in this age of devaluation.
Will any readers be in attendance tomorrow? I hope to see you there.
Bummer! I didn’t know you were gonna be there tomorrow. I was there today and it was a great showing.
