United Airlines Opens Fifth United Club In Chicago O’Hare

United Airlines has taken over a familiar space to open its fifth United Club lounge in Chicago O’Hare (ORD) near gate E7.

New E7 United Club In Chicago ORD Takes Over Former Northwest Airlines Space

The new lounge looks familiar…for Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines flyers. Yes, the new lounge is located in Terminal 2 near Gate E7 and was formerly a Delta Sky Club (and Northwest WorldClub before it). While minor cosmetic changes have been made, this lounge is not like United’s new C10 lounge. Instead, it’s a smaller lounge with a distinct feel of Northwest Airlines.

The new club has more limited food and drink options than other United clubs at O’Hare, but includes something very unique: a self-service bar, The bar includes three beers and prosecco on tap, plus both red and white wines. Meanwhile, the buffet features cold offerings such as a smoked salmon bar, a mezze platter, and warm seasonal soup. However, do not expect hot dishes like some of the other United Clubs in the airport.

The club is open daily from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM CT.

Gabrielle Wiebusch, United’s ORD Lounges and Premium Services Regional Manager, explained:

“We are so excited to open more club space in ORD. This was a tremendous effort by our United Club Premium Services teams and ORD Commercial Real Estate team to best serve our customers as they relax before their travels. Thank you to everyone involved for your hard work and dedication!”

Flyertalk member mktozd published a helpful video tour of the new lounge:

As you can see, it really looks like a NWA lounge (though it appears the fireplace was removed). Apparently, it was also (temporarily) co-branded as a Continental Airlines Presidents Club, prior to the United merger when COntinetnal was part of the SkyTeam alliance.

Why did United just make minor cosmetic changes to this lounge? Because it is a temporary lounge. Terminal 2 will be razed for a new terminal and this lounge simply addresses overcrowding in the days leading up to the demise of this terminal.

Have you visited the “newest” United Club in ORD?

    Gentlemen,

I’ve spent the last week adventuring in Argentina and so I’ve largely and sadly been unable to participate in our usual spirited debate. Regretfully, I missed the day after the glorious and hilarious election. I don’t want anyone to think I’ve forgotten about them. Just know this:

I’ve spent the last week laughing at every one of you leftist losers, not just on this blog but across the country. Trump won LOLGF!!!

A serious question – how were things in Argentina? Has Javier Milei been able to halt inflation and the decline of the peso?

Well from what I could tell the overall inflating rate this year will easily top 100% but it has come down drastically in just the last couple of months.

He has somewhat reduced inflation (annual rates still at 230%) but he did so at the altar of poverty, which should not shock anyone. Poverty rates have soared from around 40% to now around 55%. They were 26% seven years ago, so he’s super accelerated the suffering of the people.

I think most people don’t truly understand how economics and societies actually work. I’m one of them, but I’m not hawking economic theory with the risk of destroying people’s lives.

I think that’s wonderful. Your mom took you to a Latin restaurant and told you it was an Argentinian adventure. Good for you!

Awe I missed you too Billy Bob – I was so sorry I could not be here to mock you the day after the election, but I was busy trekking a glacier in Patagonia

Next time I fly out of Terminal 2, I’ll have to try it. Unfortunately, despite my destination being appropriate for an RJ, I flew out of Terminal 1 and hit the Club at B6 (how disgusting that the nearest gate has the same designator as the second-most satanic airline in the world). But the F Concourse did need a little relief, and I was wondering what was going on in there.

The tiling does give it a 90s/2000s feel.

“Why did United just make minor cosmetic changes to this lounge?” Because it’s an example of” Good Leads the Way “. Not excellence or customer focused memorable problem solving service.

@Matthew, the lounge was a joint NWA/CO lounge back in the day, it was one of the nicer lounges in the CO/NWA system.

Also it was unusual because it had both CO and NWA staff to assist customers.

Aw, looks like a nice little club. I enjoy the smaller clubs (PHL, SAN, SNA). The food options are limited but the smaller clubs seem quieter and more cozy to me. I love my hometown UA clubs at DEN but they’re often crowded and loud.

The Delta SkyClub at MEM (Memphis) is the best one around. Ultra-clean, never busy and the best staff in the system.

I had almost completely forgotten about the days of NW flying to/from ORD. Glad to have another UA lounge even as my use of UA lounges at ORD has been declining this year.

Lots of mainline flights now leave from the F gates. So this is a nice perk. If you want a full bar the other Club in T2 is huge and easy to get to.

I’m wondering if the renovation and expansion of the ORD Polaris Lounge is proceeding on schedule?

Not sure if it is on schedule, but I know work is ongoing and the lounge will temporarily shutter 1/1/25.
