Having proved a successful concept in Denver, United Airlines will open a second grab-and-go lounge, dubbed United Club Fly, at its Houston hub.
United Club Fly Lounge Arriving At Houston (IAH) In 2025
United is in the midst of a multi-year update to its sprawling hub at Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston. While the carrier already offers five lounges in Houston, these are often stretched to capacity during busy departure periods:
- Polaris Lounge
- United Club – Terminal B
- United Club – Terminal C1
- United Club – Terminal C33
- United Club – Terminal E
As in Denver, United operates a series of departure banks at Houston in which flights arrive and depart within a short period of time so that connection time is minimized, shortening overall travel duration.
Flight banks are often reflected by a flurry of activity and passengers during the peak time (for about 90 minutes) and almost a ghost-town-like feel during the valleys between banks.
The practical result of banking departures is that passengers often do not have time to stop in a United Club between flights and even if they did, they are often highly crowded during this period. Food and beverage offerings, beyond coffee or tea to go, are meant to be consumed inside the lounge, further creating a time crunch.
But the concept of United Club Fly is that lounge members and other passengers with access to the lounge can grab something to eat quickly between flights and then eat it onboard their connecting flight.
These grab-and-go lounges include:
- barista-made coffee (including Cold Brew)
- tea
- soft drinks
- water
- juices
- sandwiches
- salad
- cereal
- fruit
- chips
- sweet treats
The Denver lounge only has 16 seats and no restrooms: all food is intended to be taken away.

New Lounge Will Complement Largest United Club In System
Live And Let’s Fly reached out to United Airlines for confirmation about the new club and was told:
“Building on the success of the first United Club Fly location in Denver, we are planning to open a Club Fly in Terminal B at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in spring of next year. The space will offer travelers choice and convenience with on-the-go premium beverages and food items for takeaway, and it will complement a new United Club in Terminal B – currently projected to be the largest club location in our network.”
(The new United Club in Terminal B was announced last year)
CONCLUSION
United will open a second Club Fly Lounge, this time in Houston. It will open in 2025 and coincide with a brand new United Club in Houston that will be the largest in the United network. Considering how crowded the lounges can be in Houston during busier times of the day, this is great news… particularly for passengers who have short connections.

Why do you say that?
I wish Delta had something like that. Most of the times I don’t need to sit at the lounge but just grab something quick and hopefully helathy to eat on teh plane since it is impossible to be upgraded these days.
Totally unnecessary for such a profitable carrier like Delta. The worst SkyClubs are leaps and bounds better than any Polaris Lounge.

IAH actually has 6 UA Clubs. You forgot to list the Terminal A lounge.
