My Massive Suite Upgrade At The Wynn Las Vegas

My suite at the Wynn Las Vegas this week was bigger than my house and included such “necessities” as a bar and private massage room.

I’m in Las Vegas for meetings this week and it occurred to my business partner and me that instead of always spending time and money on Uber going from hotel to hotel for meetings, we should start hosting them ourselves.

But the best part was that we did not pay anything close to the $1700+ night retail for this suite. Not even close. Instead, we booked though the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program, which among other benefits promises a room upgrade upon arrival.

Throw in a Gary Leff trick at the check-in and look what we scored:

a walkway leading to a building

a large room with a large rug and a large counter

a living room with a large window

a living room with a couch and a television

a living room with a couch and a lamp

a bar with chairs in a room

a table with chairs and a mirror in a room

a bed in a room

a bed with white sheets and a lamp

a bathroom with a sink and a tub

A perfect venue for meetings and a comfortable room to sleep in. Stay tuned for a full review of the property: our package also included breakfast each morning and a spa credit.

CONCLUSION

Hotels are still a great value in Las Vegas, particularly in the summer months. I’ve enjoyed the Wynn over the years and am willing to break with my usual Hyatt-MGM alliance in order to enjoy this property. The exceptional upgrade we received only solidifies this choice.

Did you tip $20 or more?

This was a midweek stay right? I can’t imagine such an upgrade occurring on a Friday or Saturday. Great, nonetheless.

Sunday-Wednesday stay. It was more than $20.

@jediwho : yea okay … hope you were just kidding …. the $20 trick has been dead for like a decade

@Matthew : nice score indeed ! Wynn+Encore are some of my most favorite baccarat rooms. It’s most unfortunate their former owner has been caught up in scandal.

20 buck trick isn’t dead. Still works wonders at Aria, even last weekend.

You’re far too old to be sharing a bed with your business partner; surely one of you could have a fold-out bed and not even regard it as having drawn the short straw. Or is this willingness to share a Millennial thing?

I don’t get why this bothers people. I don’t want a roll-away bed cluttering up the room and the bed is big enough for two people. My business parter has also been of my closest friends for 20 years. I’m not going to bite and he’s not going to bite.

So what would’ve happened if you booked this basic room planning to hold meetings in it and instead of a massive suite they put you in a slightly larger than regular room such as a “Panoramic Corner View” room?
