After my tour of Cotonou, I had a couple hours before my flight to Istanbul. Turkish Airlines uses the AHS Business Lounge in Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport (COO), also a Priority Pass Lounge. I give the lounge high marks and enjoyed my stay.
AHS Business Lounge Cotonou Review
The AHS Business Class Lounge is located between border control and the security check. Follow the “Salon” signs up a flight of stairs to the lounge (to the side of the 1st floor).
The lounge is open the following hours:
- 07:00 – 04:00 Monday and Tuesday
- 06:00 – 04:00 Wednesday
- 12:00 – 16:00 + 18:00 – 23:00 Thursday
- 03:00 – 06:00 +08:00 – 16:00 + 20:00 – 00:00 Friday
- 08:00 – 16:00 + 19:00 – 00:00 Saturday
- 03:00 – 15:00 + 19:00 – 00:00 Sunday
(talk about complicated…)
Inside, you’ll find one large room with chairs on one side and a dining area on the other.
Most of the chairs are plush, oversized, and comfortable. Power ports were sparsely available, through I had the lounge to myself for about 30 minutes. Internet functioned and was fast enough for me to back up my pictures and prepare a couple blog posts.
Heading over the food and drinks area, I found a full self-serve bar and a buffet of hot and cold items. Hot dishes included:
- Riz (rice)
- Beef Bourguignon
- Légumes sautés (sautéed vegetables)
Hoping for a feast on Turkish Airlines, I did not try any of the hot dishes. I enjoyed some nuts and a green drink (presumably [hopefully?] filled with vegetables).
No showers, but restrooms were available (and clean).
CONCLUSION
My expectations were low considering the dismal state of the rest of the airport, but the lounge was comfortable and quiet. If your travels take you through Cotonou, the AHS Business Lounge is worth a visit.
How would you review the AHS Business Lounge in Cotonou?
This story is part of my An African Adventure As The World Shut Down trip report.
The timings seem complicated, but can be summarized as “Open whenever there is a flight scheduled”.
I’ve done some charters to Cotonou during their “closed” hours and they were very happy to stay open for the passengers on those flights! 🙂
The green drinks are labeled “pineapple-mint-ginger”
My French is good enough to read that. 😉
It still looks questionable! The ginger was strong.
There is/was an annex to this lounge on first floor (downstairs from this lounge). smaller, same food and drink, less crowded.
