During my long layover in Bahrain I took a few moments to visit one of the airport’s Priority Pass lounges, called the Dilmun Lounge.
It is located near Gate 16 on the departures level and open 24/7.
Lounge amenties included:
- Seating for 60-70 guests
- Buffet featuring:
- sandwiches
- wraps
- fruit
- cheese
- soup
- hot dishes (Middle Eastern / Indian)
- yogurts
- salads
- bread
- pastries
- Self-serve beverages including:
- beer
- wine
- hard liquor
- soft drinks
- water
- coffee
- Smoking room
- Restrooms
- Newspapers/magazines
- Luggage storage
The lounge was not crowded, but internet was extremely slow (just like the Gulf Air Lounge). Even worse, there were very few power outlets available around the lounge. For those reasons, the lounge is not one I would return to if I could avoid it. On the other hand, it was clean, the smoke did not escape the little cubicle pictured above, and the staff tending to the buffet was friendly. If you’re visiting the lounge to unwind, you might enjoy it more than I did (also note the decent alcohol selection).
CONCLUSION
If you’re hungry, this lounge is a better alternative than the gate area or concourse. If you’re thirsty, this lounge is a better alternative than the gate area or concourse. But if you want to work and need internet, this lounge is not ideal.
