Anyone who has been to United’s Philadelphia Red Carpet Club knows that the bathrooms are in an utter state of disrepair.
Although the club was refurbished in 2009 and closed temporarily by the Health Department earlier this year, the bathrooms remained unchanged.
To my surprise, when I walked in the RCC this morning the agent (who I see every week) proudly proclaimed, "Mr. Klint, we’re getting new bathrooms!"
And soon too. Apparently a United rep. was on-site last week to inspect and the remodeling is slated to begin later this month. Thankfully, the club will NOT be closed during the remodeling, though club patrons will be without a bathroom for a while.
I applaud UA for finally taking action to remedy this problem. Better late than never!
Their report (or last year’s report for that matter) is not on PA’s website but they haven’t posted Sept’s yet. You might note that over about three quarters of the reports filed at the website for food service facilities at PHL are in a state of “out of compliance”.
Ugh. Did you see if the US Airways Club was out of compliance?
